Shenzhen is a modern city located in the vicinity of Hong Kong and has progressed from a small fishing village into one of the most rapidly growing megacities of the world in a matter of few decades. It is a financial hub and a major hub for Information Technology commonly referred to as the Silicon Valley of China. However, Shenzhen apart from being full of tall buildings and business facilities also has plenty to experience culturally and few places must be visited by anyone. 

1. Shenzhen theme parks

Shenzhen boasts well-developed entertainment facilities including several world-class theming parks that could occupy your time for a day or two. Head first to Sanya Window of the World which is a large park with a scale recreation of some of the most famous landmarks in the world, such as the Pyramids and the Taj Mahal. Next, head to Splendid China Folk Village where you will be able to see and enjoy how people from different areas in China live, what they eat, and what houses they live in. Conclude your day at Happy Valley, which provides thrills of amusement in the form of rides, performances, and other attractions. The East Creative Park also serves as a good location for art pieces and other cultural shows.

2. Downtown Shenzhen

Some of the features include an artificial lake, well-tended lawns, waterfalls, and a walkway that provides a perfect break from the city rush. The musical dancing fountain is a special attraction that can be enjoyed in the evenings.

4. OCT Loft is OCT Harbour

OCT district is a trendy area in Shenzhen that is known for its clubs and shops that sell artistic products. The loft is an art village with different art pieces exhibited every time with the added vibe of being young and lively. 5. Dameisha Beach, and Xiaomeisha Beach.

I must admit that this is the first military-themed park that I have come across in China. Some of the highlights include realistic retired aircraft carriers, cruisers, tanks, missiles, and many others. Those interested in military history and military hardware will surely enjoy visiting this place due to the numerous stored tanks, helicopters, and other military equipment.

7. Fairy Lake Botanical Gardens

The 200-hectare site is made up of various garden themes and display greenhouses which makes it ideal for a leisurely walk in a natural environment. The leading feature is the rose garden which is a breathtaking environment that hosts more than one hundred thousand gorgeous roses from across the world.

8. Shenzhen Mangrove Seashore Ecology Tourism Destination

As previously mentioned, Shenzhen has sections of its coast, which is protected mangrove wetlands, which are perfect for migratory birds. People can walk through the boardwalk trails watch via the towers and get to know all the peculiarities of the plants and animals. Additional tours include boat and train tours that are guided.

9. Dapeng Ancient Fortress
