Published On : 03 Sep 2024

Pattaya and Chonburi are famous Thai cities for their vibrant nightlife, beautiful sand beaches, and excellent-class resort hotels. This is a popular tourist destination where millions of tourists visit annually in search of fun and excitement. However, there are things that tourists will not discover in these regions other than the famous tourist attractions.

1. Khao Chi Chan  “Buddha Mountain”

Khao Chi Chan is situated just 40 40-minute drive from Pattaya and is indeed magnificent to behold. Today at the edge of a limestone mountain stands a colossal image of the Buddha which is 130 meters high and 70 meters wide! It is said that this was carved in 1996 and measures about 190 ft tall making it the world’s largest carved-out Buddha cliff. Staring at this wonderful sight, you will discover that this place is known as the Buddha Mountain.

2. Sanctuary of Truth

Located in the Naklua region, this marvelous and unique construction rises 105 meters above the coastline and is made exclusively of wood with no use of metal nails. This construction has four wings with intricate Thai motifs and carvings of gods and animals on its walls. The goal of constructing this architectural complex was to prove the existence of this knowledge in ancient ancestors and Eastern philosophy. Be sure to visit it early in the morning or before the sun sets as you will be able to capture some of the most beautiful shots on your camera!

3. Mini Siam and Mini Europe Danes.

Who will go to Europe when you have a miniature of it at Mini Siam and Mini Europe? This is a rather special park located just in the outskirts of Pattaya and this one is for toy cars; there are miniatures of popular attractions in Thailand and Europe. Visit Thai iconic places such as the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha then go to the ‘Europe’ section and tour the Eiffel Tower, Stonehenge, and more. Without any doubt, it can be considered one of the most family-oriented tourist sites.

4. Khao Lam (Python Cave)

Khao Lam is another oddity site that has a cave where reticulated pythons and bats dwell in Sri Racha, a province just a 40-minute drive from Pattaya. They have even drawn cartoon characters of them, but they are real and you should watch out for them when you are exploring the area with a flashlight at night. The cave is located in a gorgeous park with numerous hiking paths spreading through the jungle and forest around. Do not leave without climbing to the viewpoint at the top which offers stunning views over the southern central area.

5. Silverlake Vineyard

It is however important to note that someone once said that good wine cannot be made in the tropics. The latest new and stunning Silverlake Vineyard in Chonburi has set that idea aside! Its beautiful terrain with perfectly arranged vineyards and mountains in the backdrop looks as if it is designed from Napa Valley. Take a tour of their production facilities to learn how they make wine before you get to taste some of their best wines such as Isaan Sunset Rosé and Symphony Cabernet Shiraz.
