1. Mount Rainier National Park

9. Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic Peninsula

The Hoh Rain Forest is one of the best temperate rainforests in the continental United States; the Olympic National Park offers massive trees that are entwined with moss and ferns and beautiful trails for a fairy-tale-like trek. Elk is depicted as moving through a magical atmosphere in the mist.

10. Leavenworth

With its Bavarian styling, set amidst the Cascade mountain range, Leavenworth offers its guests Alpine-styled buildings, German-styled food and beverages – particularly beers and wines, arts and music, and in the surrounding areas, great opportunities for outdoor activities.

13. Whidbey & Camano Islands

These two relatively undeveloped island areas north of Seattle can be accessed by Cascades Highway or ferry and offer a pastoral experience with small towns, auto touring, wineries, lavender farms, whale watching, and resorts.

Here, one will be able to study the geological and ecological changes that came with the 1980 blast at Mt. St. Helens and a museum and an observatory plaza to give a perfect view of the crater.

A 52-meter plunge into a basin amid trees, is a spectacular spray, a brook of the most powerful waters falling with a thunderous roar outside Seattle. You can view the waterfall from above or hike to the bottom to view the plunge pool area.
