Kunthala Waterfalls
Regarded as one of the most scenic waterfalls in Telangana, the Kunthala Waterfalls is situated in amid of gorgeous Sahyadri Mountain Range. Kuntala waterfall is the highest waterfall in the state that plunges from a height of 150 feet. The waterfall originates from the Kadam river which is known for its picturesque forests.
As per the legend, the waterfall is named after Shakuntala, who was believed to have fallen in love with king Dushyanta, at the very site. Also, it is said that Shakuntala used to take bath in this Kuntala Falls. Since Gond tribes mostly live here, the waterfall’s name is derived from the world ‘Kunta’ which means pond in both Gondi and Tamil. The word ‘Kuntalu’ stands for multiple ponds, and this waterfall is created by the confluence of several ponds which drains from the river.

Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary
Situated in Adilabad, Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary is an admiring protected area of Deccan Plateau that is spread across a huge area of 136 sq. km.
The sanctuary is flanked by dense forest while Pranahita River flowing through the area provides an excellent source of water for the wildlife. The area is also rich in diverse vegetations as well as wildlife species including sloth bear, langur, forest cat, tiger, hyenas and leopards etc.
Shivaram Wildlife Sanctuary
Lying on the banks of River Godavari, Shivaram Wildlife Sanctuary is blessed with fresh water flora and fauna. Established in the year 1987, Sivaram Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for marsh crocodiles which are also known as muggar crocodiles.
Besides delicious shrubs, the Shivaram Wildlife Sanctuary is spread across a vast area of 36.29 sq kms inhabit animals like nilgai, tiger, wild boar, panther, python, langur, sloth bear, sambhar, cheetal, rhesus monkey etc. Tourists will also see crocodiles that are found in River Godavari. Shivaram Wildlife Sanctuary is also home to a variety of trees including Gumpena, Timan, Terminalias, Kodsha and teak etc.
