Bakkhali Beach
Located at the most deltaic island of southern Bengal, Bakkhali Sea beach is a crescent-shaped beach. Stretching 8km from Bakkhali to Frasergunj, this beach is one among the most serene beach with a long coastline in Bengal. A spot with a beautiful sunrise, the beach is a go-to place for picnics and leisure walks. The Bishhalakshmi temple at the end of the Bakkhali beach is worth a visit.
Bishhalakshmi Temple
Bishhalaxmi Temple is a little known Hindu Temple on Bakkhali Beach. The small and quaint place is yet another example of the peaceful yet stunning beauty Bakkhali seems to be full off.
A quiet walk on the beach, followed by prayer services at the temple comprise a perfectly well spent evening.
Crocodile Breeding Centre
The Crocodile Park in Bakkhali is the only crocodile reservation park in West Bengal and one of the few in the world. Bakkhali Breeding centre has a huge collection of crocodiles, with a variant in almost every stage of life from the birth to old age.
Fraserganj Wind Park
The area of Fraserganj is popular because of some ancient history. Lord Fraser, a British Official resided in this area. He was so mesmerized by the place that he decided to build it up, but the construction he undertook never got completed, owing to the sea.
Ruins of his home and a few other builds can still be seen here. There are also a large number of wind mines erected in the area, making the place look surreal.
Henry's Island
Henry's Island is a serene island near the village of Bakkhali in the Indian state of West Bengal. Bakkhali is located in the district of South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. The captivating island is 140 kilometres away from the bustling city of Kolkata and is a quick getaway for the locals.
