Museum Negeri Propinsi Bali
The prime museum for Balinese Culture, Museum Negeri Propinsi in Bali is the island's central museum located in its provincial capital Denpasar. Housing over 10,000 artworks, the museum has a variety of pieces on display- from prehistoric stone sarcophagi to dance costumes and masks, making it a comprehensive collection of the island's heritage.
Known as the Provincial Public State Museum, this museum holds up a magnifying glass to traditional Balinese traditions, with its different pavilions examining different facets of Balinese history and culture. The staff, to create a better ambience, play traditional music on instruments made of bamboo. The museum is best visited in the afternoon, as it is quieter and less crowded.

Museum Puri Lukisan
A walk through Ubud is incomplete without spending a while at the Puri Lukisan Museum, home to several traditional, modern Balinese art masterpieces. The museum collection includes paintings from Sanur, Batuan, Keliki, and Young Artist schools of art. It is the perfect spot for art lovers looking at Indonesian art history with a cup of coffee.
Museum Rudana
One of the more recent fine art galleries in Bali, Museum Rudana exhibits a variety of sculptures and artwork by famous Indonesian and international painters. Founded by art collector Nyoman Rudana in 1995, the museum is spread across three levels surrounded by lush rice fields and displays emerging artists in a bid to boost the local art scene. Ideally visited in August for memorial events around the Indonesian Independence day.

Museum Semarajaya
Museum Semarajaya is located in Klungkung, Bali and exhibits a variety of artefacts such as the gold-woven songket cloth and photographs of the Kingdom of Klungkung. The museum also houses a grand collection of paintings and statues by Emilio Ambron and has on display the traditional salt-making process of Bali, which makes this museum a fascinating place to visit.
The Museum Semarajaya is a sombre reminder of the mass ritual suicide during 1908, known as the puputan, which was done to protest the Dutch colonial oppression. Inaugurated in 1998, the museum is a reminder of those tragic events. Portraits of the ruling Klunklung royal family are also housed in the museum.

Nelayan Beach
Sandwiched between the more popular beaches of Berawa and Batu Bolong, Nelayan Beach in Canggu is an unassuming yet spellbinding stretch of black sand, usually used by fishermen to offload their catch. A secluded little spot, Nelayan does not offer much in terms of tourist infrastructure apart from a gorgeous setting to laze around in, so ensure you bring your parasol to sunbathe here.
Nungnung Waterfall
Between Bedugul and Ubud lies Air Terjun Nungnung, a beautiful waterfall to refresh your senses. Located about 900m above sea level,the waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great spot for nature-lovers. However, the water is a little rough for swimming, and the 500-step pathway to access it can prove to be quite the exercise.
Crashing from a height of 50m the waterfall makes for a powerful yet, endearing sight. Surrounded by beautiful rocky and green landscapes the Nungnung Waterfall interestingly is also devoid of large crowds. The flight of around 500 steps that takes one to the waterfall is one of the main reasons why the Nungnung Waterfall is relatively less crowded.
