Goa Gajah

Depicting the history and architecture of the ancient Bali Kingdom, Goa Gajah is one of the prominent historical sites in Bali. 6 km away from central Ubud, the caves are located in the Bedulu village of West Bali. Goa Gajah is fondly called as the 'Elephant caves' due to the depiction of various elephant structures that are spread all across the cave complex. It was primarily built as a meditation centre when the Balinese Kingdom ruled over the island. The sculptures adorning the caves were made to keep the evil away from the kingdom. Over a period of time, this ancient temple has turned to ruins, giving visitors insights into the old and ancient Balinese culture.

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall

Educating children has never been as environment-friendly as the Green School near Ubud, Bali makes it. Just off the Ayung river in a forest, Green School is entirely made up of bamboo, natural setting that aims at bringing children together with their environment. The students and teachers use bio-buses for transportation, which run solely on used cooking oil, binding sustainability with education in a holistic manner.
Gunung Kawi
One of Bali's least visited temple complexes, Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple is a beautiful water temple located in Tellalang, Gianyar. Featuring lotus ponds surrounded by greenery, the temple also houses a water garden where the statue of Goddess Saraswati is kept. A split Candi Bentar gate takes leads you to the carved shrines inside.
Gunung Kawi can be found in the region of Tampaksiring. There are 10 shrines called 'candi, some towering more than 23 feet in height, sheltered by the cliff face. It is one of the oldest ancient landmarks in Bali. To reach the temple, you must climb down to the valley below, traversing through beautiful fields of rice paddy.
In 2012, Gunung Kawi was part of the Balinese 'Subak' irrigation system that was granted UNESCO World Heritage status. Because of the cliff acting as a shelter, these shrines have been well-preserved through the years despite Bali’s tropical climate. The complex remains an important source of holy water for Hindu Balinese rites, as they believe the Pakerisan River’s water becomes holy on crossing the complex.

Hidden Beach
About 4.5kms east of Candidasa in Karangasem regency lies Pasir Putih beach, also called the 'virgin beach', 'white sand beach' and 'hidden beach'. Located around a half-hour’s drive away from central Ubud, the Hidden Canyon Mini Zoo promises to bring you closer to the animals it houses.
