Ramayana Cave
The most spectacularly embellished caves in Batu Caves, Ramayana Cave depicts the mythology of Ramayana. It is situated on the extreme end of the steep walls of the hill about 100 metres on the left while facing the hills and is colourfully lit on the inside , The statues are exquisite to look at as it narrates the love story of one of the greatest Hindu scripture.
There lies a 50 Feet tall, Hanuman Statue along with a dedicated Hanuman Temple , on the way to the Ramayana cave. There is a huge sleeping statue of Kumbhkaran (Ravan's brother) inside the cave. Climbing the flight of stairs to the shrine takes one to the naturally occurring lingam which is a statue of Lord Shiva There is, however, an entrance fee of about 5 MYR to go explore the cave. Hence, it attracts a lesser crowd that make it a more fascinating experience.

Temple Cave
The Temple Cave is the centrepiece at Batu Caves guarded by an ornate 42.7m tall Lord Murugan statue. To climb to the top of the temple , the wooden stairs have been replaced by 272 psychedelic concrete steps. It is one of the most photographed sights of Malaysia.
In 1890, Pillai established the statue of Murugan Swami here. The temple Cave has two monumental caverns that are connected by 56 steps.The first one has the six abodes of Murugan, the son of Shiva ( Hindu God of War) etched into its walls. The upper cavern depicts Sri Murugan’s wife Sri Valli Deivanai. The religious annual procession of Thaipusam festival attracts thousands of visitors to the Temple Cave.
