Bharat Bhavan
Bharat Bhavan is an autonomous multi-arts complex and museum in the state of capital Bhopal, established and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Inaugurated in 1982 by the then Prime Minister of India - Mrs. Indira Gandhi. It is a multi-arts centre that has been set up to create an interactive experience through verbal, visual and performing arts. Bharat Bhavan provides space for contemporary expression, thought, quest and innovation and is the favourite haunt of people looking for witnessing exquisite dance and singing performances. Artists from all around the country perform here at the various events related to the free expression of thought.
Reflecting the beauty of all that lies inside, the architecture of the Bharat Bhavan itself shines through like a beautiful diamond overlooking the Upper Lake. It houses an art gallery which is adorned with a number of splendid art pieces, and if the spectacle manages to grasp your attention you can yourself take a lesson or two at the fine art workshops. An open-air amphitheatre, a studio theatre and an auditorium here in the premises are the perfect places to witness a live performance or better still, perform yourself. Birla Mandir
Built at the summit of Arera hills is the Lakshmi Narayan Temple, structured with grandiose scale and design. The temple is more commonly known as Birla Mandir. It's an awe-inspiring spectacle that showcases a panoramic view of the historic city of Bhopal. The temple was built in the honour of Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and her consort Vishnu (also known by the name Narayan), the preserver of the universe. Hence the name Lakshmi Narayan. Surrounded by greenery and an ancient charm, the temple is a shrine to Lord Shiva and Parvathi, providing solace and tranquillity to devotees.
Spread over 7.5 acres adorned with well-maintained lawns and gardens, fountains and sculptures the grand temple attracts thousands of devotees during the festivities of Janmashtami and Diwali. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple was erected by the famous industrial family - the Birla Group and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi.The Birla Temple also houses the famous Birla Museum in its premises with collections dating back to the 12th-century boasting some sculptures from the era of Paramaras. A magnificent archway welcomes devotees at the entrance that leads to a picturesque of finely crafted Hindu sculptures. The sandy-yellowish colour of the temple and the contagious greenery of the gardens adds an antique appeal to its ambience.

Birla Museum
The remnants of Madhya Pradesh's glorious pre-historic era is perfectly preserved in the Birla Museum. The museum contains objects used by the Paleolithic and Neolithic man, stone sculptures from 7th to 13th century BC and manuscripts and terracotta belonging to 2nd century BC

Bori Wildlife Sanctuary
Located in the heart of the country, The Bori Wildlife Sanctuary in Itarsi near Bhopal is truly among the country's oldest and most diverse attractions.
Bori Wildlife Sanctuary is among the counytry's oldest reserves and was established in 1865. Surrounded by greenery on all sides, it is located along the Tewa River at a distance of approximately 167 km from the city of Bhopal in Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh. It is a part of the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve and is covered in mixed deciduous and Bamboo forests. It is not uncommon to sight bigger mammals such as tigers, leopards, wild boars, deer or even the Indian Gaur while you are here. Halali Dam & Reservoir
Halali Dam is a lakeside reservoir built on the Halali River in Raisen. Formerly known as Thal River, the pristine lake is 47 km from Bhopal to Sanchi is Halali the tributary of Betwa river. The catchment area of this project is around 699 sq km. The colossal dam is quite popular among locals of Bhopal as an excellent spot for picnic and boat rides. Apart from this, the reservoir is home to aquatic life forms such as catla, mrigal, mystus, rohu and chitala.
Also known as Samrat Ashok Sagar Project, the Halali Dam reservoir was commissioned in 1973. The Halali River has an ancient history attached to its name. As stated by the locals, Dost Muhamad Khan a Nawab ruler killed a rival force from Rajput near Jagdishpur on the bank of the tributary. In consequence, since it appeared red with victim's blood, Halali (the river of slaughter) became the name of the river.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, the national museum of Anthropology, is majestically situated on the Shamla Hills, the upper lakefront of Bhopal.
