Places To Visit In Bhuntar
Basheshwar Temple
The Basheshwar temple in Bhuntar is said to have been built by the Pandavas. A beautiful temple with stone carvings all around, it hosts idols of major Hindu deities. The carvings are very detailed and awe-inspiring. Out of the twenty temples in all of Kullu valley, this is the biggest temple of Lord Shiva. The temple is easily distinguishable because of the flatly shaped shikaras.
Jagannath Temple
Located just 3 km away from Bhuntar, amidst the lush green mountains of the town, the Jagannath Temple is tucked at the height of around 5,000 ft. above the sea level. Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, the temple holds a strong religious significance.
Unlike the famous hill stations of Kullu and Manali which are located nearby, the small town of Bhuntar is not well-known amongst tourists. However, the scenic views from the top and the abundant natural beauty will blow away your mind. There is absolutely no crowd and the temple is imbued with tranquillity, in the peaceful lord's abode where verdant mountains feel like heaven on earth. In winter, the snow-covered mountains look even more appealing. The Jagannath Temple is a perfect weekend getaway. It comes to the rescue for those who want to run away from the chaos and embrace peace for a while.
