The Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil is a cultural organization of Brazil's largest bank with its centres in Rio, Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Belo Horizonte. Catedral Metropolitana
Brasilia's most famous attraction, Catedral Metropolitana is a unique circular Catholic church.
Inaugurated in 1970 and designed by the chief architect Oscar Niemeyer himself, the Metropolitan Cathedral is no less than an architectural spectacle. Certainly, the most modernistic church to be built on the planet, this massive hyperboloidol concrete structure is supported by 16 curved columns giving an impression to the building as that of a crown. At the entrance, one can find four large bronze statues representing the four Evangelists. Once inside, the interplay of light and beauty of the stained glass work leaves its visitors amazed. Congresso Nacional
The seat of legislative power in Brazil, Congresso National is a stunning landmark designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
One cannot miss the august architecture of Brazil's National Congress. Based on a flat base, Niemeyer designed contrasting designs for the two houses of parliament and office of the members. The semi circular buildings house the Senate and Chamber of the Deputies and are said to have been modelled after flying saucers. They are separated by two linear rectangular high rise office towers. Visitors can avail a tour inside the complex without any entrance fee.

JK Memorial
Located near the city park of Brasilia, JK Memorial is a monument dedicated to the founder president Juscelino Kubitschek.
It comes as no surprise that Brasilia has a monument made for its heroic president Juscelino Kubitschek. Considered among the finest works of Niemeyer, the memorial is a tall edifice with JK's 4.5 metre tall statue on the top. The modern memorial houses Kubitschek's tomb and a museum dedicated to his life and works. The museum also provides in depth insights into construction of the city including early plans and photographs. Lago do Paranoà
Lago do Paranoà is an artificial lake created by damming Paranoà river.
Though planned in the 19th century, the lake became a reality in 1950s. Along its shore are embassies, consulates, sports clubs, University of Brasilia and the Palàcio da Alvorada, official residence of the President of Brazil. The key highlight here is a concrete and steel bridge known as Ponte JK which is supported by three crisscrossing arches rising sixty metres above water. The views at this lake are fabulous specially at night when floodlights emphasize the arches of the bridge. The place is perfect to enjoy sunsets and for relaxing.

Parque Nacional de BrasÕlia
The national park of Brasilia is located outside city's center and features numerous animal species and mineral water swimming pools.
A twenty minute drive from Brasilia makes this place perfect for a morning or afternoon. Covering an area of 420 square kilometres and Located just 10 kilometres away from the city centre , the park is world's largest park in an urban area. Apart from hosting a rich variety of flora and fauna, with numerous species of birds, capybaras, wild pigs, armadillos, maned wolves, jaguars and snakes, the park's greatest attraction are its natural mineral water swimming pools. You can take either of the two trails offered here, Capybara is 20 minutes walks whereas Aguas Cristais is an hour long walk through the lush green forests. The park makes an ideal destination for cooling off for a while away from the city.

Santuario Dom Bosco
One of the highlights of Brasilia, the square shaped church is dedicated to patron saint of the city Dom Bosco.
Dom Bosco was an Italian saint who prophesized about an utopian city near 15th parallel in 19th century. The city is none other than Brasilia and when it was planned, there had to be a monument dedicated to its patron saint. The impressive square church designed by Carlos Naves boasts of forty splendid arches framing tall windows of stained glass on each side. The windows with their blue shades create an impression of starry sky and make most of the structure. The enormous central chandelier made up of 7400 pieces of Murano glass is an attraction in itself.

Torre de TV
Located at Monumental Axis, Torre de TV or TV Tower is an excellent place to get an overview of the city.
If you are wondering why Brasilia is said to be shaped like an aeroplane or a bird in flight, you can see for yourself from this 224 metres high television tower. There is an observation deck at a height of 74 metres open to public daily for free. Many shops and restaurants are located near the tower including a crafts market to get some souvenirs.
