Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Chanthaburi
A gothic-style church which is the city's main landmark.
The largest church in Thailand, the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception is a Vietnamese Roman Catholic church for the minority population of Chanthaburi. It was constructed by the Vietnamese in 1909. It has a Gothic architectural style. There is a large statue of Virgin Mary in the front where locals are seen to offer flower garlands and incense.
Taksin Shrine and City Pillar shrine
Chanthaburi's beloved King Taksin's shrine and the city pillar are worth a visit.
The Taksin shrine, a nine-sided structure with a roof in the shape of a hat that the King used to wear, was built in 1920. Many locals make offerings to the small statue. Right across the road is the city pillar shrine which was built under the order from King Taksin when he became the king in 1700s. There is a gold pillar inside which is devoted to the city's guardian spirit.

Wat Khao Sukim is a huge Thai Theravada Buddhist temple located on a mountaintop. It started as a simple forest monastery, which is now a lavish temple with a grand entrance of staircases attracting thousands of Thais and tourists. The gaudy sculptures make it look more like a museum sometimes. On the other side of the town, Wat Mong Gorn Phupharam is a Chinese Buddhist temple which has a stunning architecture and design bursting with colors. Wat Bot Muang is Chanthaburi's oldest temple built 400 years ago. It has a chedi and murals of scenes from Buddha's life.

Khao Khitchakut National Park
Khao Khitchakut National Park covers flourishing rich forestland of about 59 km² in Chantaburi province. One of the smallest national parks in the country, it is well known for its annual pilgrimage, mystical waterfalls, and a number of challenging hiking trails which can be followed at any time of the day during the two months of pilgrimage, even during the nighttime. Tuek Daeng (Red Building)
With a bright red-tiled roof, Tuek Daeng is a single-story red building having a 7-meter-wide and 32-meter-long structure. Built-in 1893 by the French, it consists of five rooms, which are linked to each other. Back then, it served as a military base and living quarters for soldiers. After the war, this building was reconstructed into Laem Sing district public library. At present, the red building is no longer a library but a tourist attraction and home to an old French canon.
