The Chiang Mai National Museum was started by the King of Thailand in 1973 It is a three storied structure with traditional architecture and a Lanna styled roof. These typically include Buddha statues from the Chiang Saen Era, Northern wares, Lanna Buddha statues, Tribal artifacts of the tribes of Lanna, historic photos of the kingdom of Chiang Mai and objects carved out from wood.

The Chiang Mai Red Cross & Winter Fair is an annual charity festival hosted in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai during the end of the year. This winter fete is nothing short of a grand party, complete with amusement rides, raffles, arcade games, live music, beauty pageants and much more. The proceeds from the event are donated to several charities, primarily to Red Cross.
Chiang Mai University Art Museum
The Chiang Mai University Art Museum is directly associated to Chiang Mai University, with much of its displays coming straight from their Faculty of Arts. The museum encourages artworks by students of the university as well as accomplished artists. It also functions as a cultural hub, as it hosts film screenings, art festivals and performative programs significant of Thai culture.
Chiang Mai Zoo
Spread across 200 acres, The Chiang Mai Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in northern Thailand. Housing animal species from all over the world, the Chiang Mai Zoo also has an Aviary, called Nakornping Bird Park, housing over 1500 species of local and international bird species.
Located in the foothills of Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Zoo hosts over 400 different species of animals. The Zoo is also a conducive picnic spot with a great view. The Zoo exhibitions are very similar to the natural habitat of these animals, providing them with a space of comfort and protection. The zoo also has tunnel aquariums holding world records as well. The Chiang Mai Zoo hosts a variety of rare exhibits. Some of them include the Submarine Flower Urchin, a tiny creature that loves dressing up. The other rare sights include Nautilus, Scorpionfish and Frogfish; that can hide in plain sight. Established in 1995, the Aviary was set up to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Accession to the Throne.

Chinatown
The Chinatown in Chiang Mai is a culturally rich, albeit small area. Its close location to the busy Warorot Market sometimes makes it indistinguishable from the local Thai market area. There are several shops selling gold, cheap fabric and domestic appliances here. The market is more alive at night with stalls preparing authentic Chinese street food delicacies.
Located adjacent to Ping River, the entrance to this vibrant town of Chiang Mai is adorned with an exuberant Chinese gate opposite Chang Moi. Built over a century ago, Chinatown is still renowned as one of the popular destinations in Chiang Mai. Dara Pirom Palace
Once the residence of Dara Rasmee, one of the Royal King's consorts, the Dara Pirom Palace is now open to the public as a museum. Set upon a peaceful compound, the palace is a testimony to the brilliance of Thai-colonial architecture and upper class cultures. The rooms exhibit memorabilia, photographs, textiles and heirlooms from the princess's life and times.
