Lake Opeka is a man-made lake built-in 1963, located at Des Plaines, Illinois. Here you can experience activities such as riding a paddleboat, kayaking, picnicking, fishing, and sailing. The beach organizes training programs, such as the Junior Lifeguard program - a training program that happens in the lake. Renowned as the largest beach in Chicago, Leone Beach was named after Sam Leone, a park employee and a Navy World War I veteran, in 1966. The beach is laid-back and is great for just lounging around. Named after Illinois’s favourite son, Abraham Lincoln, the Lincoln Park is home to one of the best museums in Chicago and a zoo that you can visit without even having to spend a dime. Inside this sprawling park, which stretches seven miles along the shore, from Ohio Street Beach to Hollywood Beach, one can also find the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Lincoln Park Cultural Centre and the Chicago History Museum, all of which are open for visitors for free. Maggie Daley Park, a 20-acre park, is one of the newest parks in Chicago. With Millennium Park as its neighbour, Maggie Daley Park offers a playground for childrem of different age groups, a skating ribbon, a mini golf course, a climbing wall and a tennis court. The Skating Ribbon, however, is the most visited attraction in this park.
