Chittorgarh Tourism

Nestled in the heart of Rajasthan, Chittorgarh stands as a testament to India's rich history and cultural heritage. This ancient city, steeped in royal grandeur, boasts a captivating blend of architectural marvels and tales of valour. From the imposing Chittorgarh Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the serene Padmini Palace, every corner echoes the glorious past of the Rajputana dynasty.

Chittorgarh is a historic city located in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is renowned for its magnificent Chittorgarh Fort, which stands as a symbol of Rajput valour and heritage. Chittorgarh, with its rich history, architectural marvels, and cultural heritage, stands as a testament to the valour and resilience of the Rajput rulers. It remains a significant destination for history enthusiasts, pilgrims, and tourists exploring the royal heritage of Rajasthan.

Located in south-eastern Rajasthan, Chittorgarh is known for Chittorgarh Fort, the largest stronghold in India, erected on a hilltop and spreading over an area of around 700 acres. The capital of the Quondam area of Mewar, the magnific fort, will always be flashed back for the valorous tone of immolating Jauhar performed by Rani Padmini to baffle the subjection of the stronghold by Alauddin Khilji.

Chittorgarh stands at the helm of Chattari Rajput pride and is flashed back in the runners of history for its noble battles, especially the siege of Alauddin Khilji. Previously known for its majesty and substance, Chittorgarh has left its tales of frippery and treason far behind to catch up to commercialization. It takes many hours to cover the stronghold complex at the bottom. Wear comfortable footwear, and keep a water bottle handy.

Rana Kumbha Palace is the largest structure in Chittorgarh stronghold, and while it's now a bare tumbledown structure of broken walls and piles of monuments, it was formerly a magnific three-fabled palace with gigantic pillars, maze-like underground coverts, and intricately designed armature. The most notorious magnet in the Chittorgarh stronghold is the Padmini Palace, named after Queen Padmini herself. Replete with roof belvederes and water gullies, the story of Queen Padmini’s courage rings out loud in every corner of this dilapidated structure.
