National Railway Museum

Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre
The Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre is a performing arts center in Colombo. The theatre’s state-of-the-art architecture resembles an eight-petaled lotus flower inspired by Polonnaruwa's Nelum Pokuna (Lotus Pond). The building features two permanent theatres - the main auditorium, an open-air theatre, and an additional open-air theatre on the front steps.
In addition, the theatre boasts an ultra-modern auditorium with 1,288 seats, a library, and training studios.

Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque
Famed for its striking red and white candy-striped brick facade, Red Mosque is a long-standing landmark mosque on Second Cross Street, the old port area of Colombo. The dual-storied building with minarets has a clock tower reminiscent of Kuala Lumpur’s Jamek Mosque. Prayer times and Fridays are the busiest hours.
Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque is one of Colombo’s first establishments combining Indo-Islamic, Persian, Gothic revival, and Neoclassical architecture.

Sri Lanka Air Force Museum
Sri Lanka Air Force Museum is the only national museum dedicated to aviation and the history of SLAF. Consisting of four hangars and outdoor exhibits, the museum is open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM except on Mondays. Some phenomenal memorabilia include aircraft like the LTT Colombo, vehicles like an Austin Firefighter, uniforms and weapons. Entrance tickets cost 120 Rupees.
Sri Lanka Planetarium
Located on the University of Colombo grounds, Sri Lanka Planetarium is a public planetarium housed within a lotus-shaped building from 1965. This is the first and only planetarium in the country, maintained by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Research, and features 570 seats. Visitors can enjoy shows in English and Tamil inside, consisting of lessons about planets, the sun, the solar system, and star constellations.
Water World Kelaniya
Nestled on the banks of the Kelani River, Water World Kelaniya is the only public aquarium in Sri Lanka with South Asia's first underwater tunnel. Sprawled over 5 acres, the park has several tanks and ponds housing 500 varieties of fish, an exotic bird park, and educational programs. Some breathtaking collections include birds of the Amazon rainforest, Asian marine life around underwater tunnels, and ostrich parks.
Wellawatte Beach
A stone’s throw away from the namesake railway station, Wellawatte Beach has a scenic marine drive with posh restaurants and a sandy shoreline for walking. Frequented by picnicking families, tourists and frolicking locals, the beach also has plenty of big rocks and shaded spots on the sand for sitting, ice cream stalls, and a small market selling local produce and souvenirs. Towards the southern end, vendors offer delicious seafood.
