St George's Church

St George's church is an essential tourists attraction. Constructed in the year 1926, the church is a beautiful remnant of the gothic structure of the British era. It is an archetypal cantonment church with white inlay work and an intense ochre stucco. The church is constructed in the ancient Raj style of architecture, with a serene environment. To witness the interiors of the church one has to pass through the vestibule where the vaulted roof with six iconic columns separates the church to side aisles. The altar is enriched entirely with white marble inlay which makes it look enchanting. Apart from this, the church houses a collection of paintings and curved interiors. A notable occasion at the church is the Sunday closest to the National Martyrs Day wherein a unique service in honour of our martyrs is held in the church.
