Lake Highlands Community Garden is the first garden of its kind that promotes neighborhood food gardening in the city of Dallas. Spread over 2.27-acres, this garden was established in 2008 and fully run by donations and voluntary work. The food grown on the Lake Highlands Community Garden goes to the food banks of Dallas. The organic produce is grown, taken care of, and harvested by hundreds of volunteers around the year and across ass seasons.
