Cedar Creek Reservoir

Located in Henderson the Cedar Creek reservoir is mainly known for its aquatic vegetation and predominant fish. The reservoir also has a drainage system of around 1000 square kilometers and is currently managed by the Texas parks and wildlife department. In Addition to this there are also several aquatic birds that reside in and around the park. The reservoir has beautiful surroundings of several small settlements. Cedar Creek Lake is very well known for its natural vegetation and fauna. Visitors are also fond of fishing in this lake due to its moderate depth and abundance of fish. The Cedar Crest Golf course was established in 1916, designed by A. W. Tillinghast. It is home to the 1972 PGA Championship making it a historic course. It is equipped with an 18 hole course and spans up to 6,532 yards. The course is enjoyable to beginners yet it is challenging at the same time as the short length of the course proves to be difficult for long hitters due to the need for accuracy; earning the name “Shot maker’s course”. The is located in the north parking lot of Cliff Temple Baptist Church serves as a part of Well Ministry, which supports people with mental illness. Members of the Well, gardeners from the Cliff Temple congregation, and local community members work on the garden and contribute to the Goslin Opportunity Center and food pantry of the church. Cliff Temple Community Garden contains about 28 individual raised beds for plantings, tilling the soil, and adding mulch.
