Khalifa International Stadium

The Khalifa International Stadium is also known as the Qatar National Stadium. It is one of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Doha. It is located in Al Rayyan, west of Doha. With an intended seating capacity of 52,000, it is considered to be Qatar’s main football stadium and is a part of the Doha Sports City complex. Opened in 1976, the stadium is named after the former Emir of Qatar, Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani. The unique double-arched shape is its most distinguishing feature. The stadium has hosted several sports events, such as the Arabian Gulf Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup™, and IAAF World Athletics Championships. This open-shop market is choke-full of Omani goods, from ceramics and woven baskets to dried fruits, nuts and spices. The market has a separate section exclusively selling various flowers and foliage plants. The market is a perfect place to shop for oud perfumes and authentic omani frankincense. The market also sells white truffles at throw away prices during certain times of the year, if the desert receives enough rain.Flowers such as daisies, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, sunflowers and pansies are readily available in the souq, as are some unique bonsai plants. The Pearl Monument is situated on Corniche Street, just outside of Dhow Harbor. The sculpture of the fountain shows a huge open oyster holding a huge pearl in its mouth.
