Albertinum
The Albertinum was renovated after its 2002 flood damage.
Situated on the Bruhl's Terrace, the Albertinum is a splendid display of modern art from the 19th century till now.
The Galerie Neue Meister (New Masters Gallery) boasts of works by Caspar David Friedrich and Claude Monet. The Albertinum is an array of artworks, with the old and the new competing, yet supplementing each other.

Loschwitz Bridge
The Blue Wonder or Loschwitz Bridge is named after its blue color. A steel suspension bridge spanning the Elbe between the outer districts of Blasewitz and Loschwitz, the Blue Wonder has become yet another symbol of Dresden.
At that time it was the first European bridge which was not supported by piers and hence, was renowned for its impressive technology.
Bruhl Terrace
Bruhl's Terrace promenade not only showcases some beautiful architecture but also provides a magnificent view of the Elbe. Regarded as some of the oldest Renaissance architecture in the city, the Terrace was originally part of ramparts built for the fortification of the city.
It is also known as Balcony of Europe. These were subsequently transformed into a terrace garden for king Augustus the Strong's palace. A monumental staircase was built in 1814 connecting the Schlossplatz with the terrace, thereby opening the gardens to the public. You can see the Brick Gate here, Dresden's 400 year old only surviving city gate. The Transparent Factory is Volkswagen's new concept of manufacturing vehicles while making it open to public viewing. Through the glass architecture, visitors can appreciate the high-quality materials used, the detail in the intelligent solutions and the precision workmanship.

Frauenkirche
The church of our Lady is a magnificent example of baroque architecture.
Built between 1726 and 1743, with the designs of George Bahr, the Frauenkirche stands as a symbol of Dresden. The 'stone bell', a term given to its characteristic dome was destroyed during the 1945 bombings. However, the monument was restored to its original grandeur by 2005.
It is said that the original stones of the church was stored and used for reconstruction later. The Frauenkirche also represents international reconciliation.
Today the cathedral hosts concerts and musicals and is a reverred pilgrimage site.
An ascent to the top of the Dome promises a spectacular view of the Neumarkt Square, the historical heart of the city.

Japanese Palace Dresden
In Neust_dter Markt, in the newer part of the city, these two attractions are a spectacle.
The statue of Augustus the Strong, depicted in a pose of Caesar, complete with Roman armour and riding horseback, is the popular landmark Golden Horsemen dominating this square. The Baroque-Classicistic Japanese Palace was constructed with the intention to house the King's porcelain collection. The same is validated by its chinoiserie adornments. The palace is now home to the Ethnological Museum.

Pfunds Dairy
The Guinness Book certified 'world's most beautiful dairy shop'
Established by the Pfund brothers in 1880, the interiors of the dairy are a sight to behold. Spectacular hand painted tiles adorn the walls and the floor. The embellised paintings on the tiles represent the neo-Renaissance style.
The dairy sells these hand painted tiles in addition to other usual dairy products. Rest assured this will be no ordinary dairy experience for you!
Procession of Princes
The Procession of Princes is located on the outside of the Stallhof, on Schlossplatz Square. The 101 meter long mural represents the history of the Wettins, Saxony's ruling family, including a parade of 35 dukes and kings. It was transferred to Meissen porcelain tiles for preservation.
Wilhelm Walter completed this work for the 800th anniversary of the house of Wettin, as a sgraffito on the outside wall of Langer Gang. However, the work began to fade over the years due to weather conditions and thus, subsequently, it was transferred to Meissen porcelain tiles for preservation.

Dresden Castle
Dresden's Royal Palace was the seat of mulitple Saxon rulers and now showcases some very precious collections.
The four wing palace structure, destroyed by fire once , was reconstructed under Augusus the Strong. The palace was victim to destructions yet again during the Second World War and this time a lot of valuable interior furnishing was lost. After restoration that continued over 20 years, the palace with its unique murals and baroque towers is truly spectacular. It houses the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (Dresden State Art Collections). The TÙrckische Cammer (Turkish Chamber) , Kupferstich-Kabinett (Collection of Prints, Drawings and Photographs) are all magnificent displays of art. The Historisches GrÙnes Gew_lbe and the Neues GrÙnes Gew_lbe, the Historic Green Vault and New Green Vault, both showcase the extraordinary wealth of the Saxon rulers' private collections.
