Phezulu Safari Park
Phezulu Safari Park is located on Bothas Hill in Durban and is perfect for a day out with family. It offers activities such as a reptile park and a tour of the cultural village belonging to the Zulu tribe. There is also a segway tour of the park, sunset drives of the beautiful grounds and bird spotting tours. It also has a 3 km hiking trail or the 6 km guided trail.
You can also opt for the hourly guided game drives where you can view bushbucks, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, giraffes and blesboks alongside various birds in the historic Valley of 1000 hills. On the weekends and public holidays, Zulu dancing shows are hosted here. There are restaurants and cafes inside, along with two souvenir shops. The Phezulu Safari Park also houses a kid’s play area, a swimming pool and cosy lodges.

The Kwazulu Natal Society of Arts is a contemporary art gallery located on Bulwer Road in Glenwood. It hosts artists of national and international acclaim such as Albert Adams, Sue Akerman, Mert Akbal, Rohini Amratlal and more. It is a non-profit organization founded in 1902 as Kwazulu Natal’s first contemporary art gallery.
Various events and workshops are organised here, such as live music, pottery and other crafts, free of charge. It also holds art workshops for interacting with and learning from local artists every Saturday. The cafe and store within the gallery are also must visit. The shop sells beautiful art and handicrafts, whereas the cafe stairs display art from local students on the first Thursday of every month.

Umgeni Steam Train
One of the oldest Steam Locomotives of South Africa, Umgeni Steam Train is a 3 ft 6 in long heritage railway gauge in Durban. The train hosts excursion trips each month on its last Sunday. The roundabout trip is a journey from Kloof to Inchanga. The route from Kloof to Inchanga follows the old main line from Durban to Pietermaritzburg and overlooks the Valley of 1000 Hills. Interestingly, Ichanga houses the Inchanga Railway Museum in the vicinity of the railway station; one can learn more about the history of locomotives from there.

Victoria Street Market
Victoria Street Market is the oldest market in Durban known for its unique blend of African and Indian cultures. It is located on Bertha Mkhize Street in Durban Central. Spanning over 6000 square feet, it has over 200 stalls and stores selling everything from indigenous arts and crafts, Indian products, clothing and accessories, brassware and more. It is also dotted with various eateries.
The market is divided into two floors. The ground floor contains the fish and seafood market, whereas the top floor has souvenirs, handicrafts, jewellery and fabrics. In addition, there are stores where you can get henna tattoos. There is also an extensive seafood and meat market with fresh meat, including crabs, poultry, prawns, mutton, etc. Bargaining is accepted here.
