Goalpara is a city located 140 km west of Guwahati, which is about a 3-hour drive down. It's the headquarters of the quarter of the same name. The word' Gwaltippika', roughly rephrasing Guwali Village or the Village of the Milk Men, is the origin of the name' Goalpara'. The girding regions of Goalpara are generally vast green plains, with the banks along the Brahmaputra swash giving rise to rich agrarian lands. Two water bodies, Urpad Beel and Kumri Beel, located within 15 km of the city, are known for hosting a variety of migrant catcalls during the downtime season. Certain corridors of the quarter are hilly, with evergreen trees forming nonstop tents.

The Shyamrai Sattra is an important centre for the preservation and education of Vaishnavite culture, started by Srimanta Sankardeva. Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math, another artistic mecca aligned with the Sri Krishna Chaitanya culture, hosts numerous events and carnivals according to the Shri Krishna Chaitanya timetable. Archaeological spots such as Pir Majhar and Sri Surjya Pahar are also of great literal significance.
