Hang Bo Nau
Hang Bo Nau, also known as "Pelican Cave" is named so due to the herd of pelicans that filled the cave in the past. The cave has a monster mouth opening with the stalactites and stalgmites of strange shapes falling down from the ceiling looking like sharp teeth. You can stand at the entrance and admire the stunning scenery of Halong Bay.
Hang Trong
Hang Trong or Drum Cave is found in the southeast area of Halong Bay. Opposite the virgin cave, it gets its name from the sound made by the numerous stalactites on its ceiling, making the sound of distent drumbeats when a wind blows in.
Ho Chi Minh Monument
This monument is a memorial built to remember Ho Chi Minh's visit to Cat Ba island in April 1951. Located on the top of a mountain, there is a steep but short staircase leading up to this viewpoint. Travelers can get a panoramic view of the Cat Ba and Lan Ha bay from here.
Hon Trong Mai
One of the most unique and photographed pair of islets in Halong Bay is the Hon Ga Choi Island. Also known as the 'Fighting Cocks' island, the rock formations loom 12 metres over the water. Tourists, especially photographers, usually visit here during sunrise and sunsets when the light casts a beautiful hue.
Hospital Cave
During the Vietnam War, the Hospital Cave was built high up in the limestone karsts which was invisible from the ground and air, making it an ideal safe house. The cave has concrete rooms that were built as doctors offices and surgical rooms for the injured soldiers. Those interested in history and the war should definitely visit this unique atrraction.
Lan Ha Bay
Lan Ha Bay is located east of Cat Ba Island and is one of the very popular and visited places in Vietnam. It comprises around 400 large and small islands surrounded by magnificent limestone mountains, smaller bays, and gulfs. Take a boat to the fishing villages, go kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, or diving.
Lan Ha Bay has gained popularity in recent times. It is not just because of the breathtaking views; it also provides the right spot for swimming, an overnight camp, or organizing a private beach barbeque party. The water of this bay is known to be the best for diving and snorkeling. Besides this, the site is also a popular rock-climbing destination amongst tourists.

Long Tien Pagoda
The largest pagoda in Halong, the Long Tien Pagoda has a unique architecture style of the Nguyen dynasty. It has a three gate entrance with a Buddha statue sitting on the top, and a bell tower below. The pagoda attracts a lot of crowd on the 1st and 15th of every month and during the Tet holiday, when the temple grounds turn into a colorful festival.
Quang Anh
Quang Anh floating restaurant is a perfect, peaceful and romatic spot for a meal. The restaurant picks out seafood fresh out of the cages in the sea nearby, and cooks your order with special herbs. The dishes are safe, hygienic and extremely tasty. Fish roll, Mu fish and Sea snakes are the popular choices here.
Quang Ninh Museum
With a bold and unique architecture, Quang Ninh Museum is a brilliant museum with valuable artefacts reflecting the natural heritage of Halong Bay. A whale skeleton, boat models, images and documents displaying history of Buddhism culture and wars in Vietnam, and other exhibits displaying economic and cultural achievements of Halong, you can find it all at this museum.
Soi Sim Island
With a rich ecosystem, a lot of forest trees and shrubs, and two pristine beaches, the Soi Sim Island is a small island on Halong Bay attracting many tourists. Boating, kayaking, swimming and snorkelling are the many water activities you can indulge in here. If you're more of a lazy person, you can just sun bathe and relax in the gorgeous white sands.
