The Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, is a large bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni, located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong. The statue is a major symbol of Buddhism and a popular tourist attraction. This majestic statue stands 34 meters tall and weighs over 250 metric tons. The Buddha is seated in a position of meditation and serenity, symbolizing harmony between man, nature, people, and religion. It is surrounded by a series of smaller statues known as 'The Offering of the Six Devas' and is rich in symbolic meaning. To reach Tian Tan Buddha, visitors can take the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) to Tung Chung Station, then board the Ngong Ping Cable Car, which offers panoramic views of Lantau Island.
