BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
Completed in the year 2004, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayn Mandir in Houston is a popular Hindu temple built upon the principles of the Shilpa Shastras. The largest in the state, it consists of the open-air temple building, a haveli, a surrounding deck, open grounds and an Understanding Hinduism exhibition.
Within the temple are several shrines which house deities (murtis) such as Swaminarayan (the central deity), Gunatitanand Swami, Ganapati, Shiva-Parvati and more. It is open throughout the week and engages in practices such as singing hymns, bathing the deities, offering food to them and then distributing it amongst the devotees, and performing the aarti five times a day. Moreover, it organises different programs such as classes for Hindu music, Gujarati language, religious teachings as well as seminars and live performances by students.

Barker Resevoir
The Barker reservoir is a watershed that encompasses the area that drains water out of the reservoir. Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens
Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, a former Mansion that belonged to the philanthropist Ima Hogg is encircled with a series of gardens and spreads across 14- acres of land. Three of the gardens are named after the statues of the goddesses Clio, Diana and Eutrupe displayed in the garden.
The other three gardens are named after White, East, Butterfly, and Carla. While the Bayou Bend Collection and gardens is donated to the Museum of Fine Arts it currently caters to over four thousand objects depicting the American arts and paintings from period 1620 to 1870. The Bend Garden welcomes visitors throughout the year for tours and several events.

Exploring wildlife in Bayou Wildlife Zoo is a splendid experience as one observes wildlife in the comfort of a tram under the guidance of a tour guide. Bayou Wildlife Zoo is mainly bifurcated into 80 - acre tram ride, Addie Lou’s Barnyard and Big Red Barn.

Situated within the University of Houston’s Arts District, the Blaffer Art Museum was established in 1973 and is a contemporary art museum. It is known for its various exhibitions that feature artwork by international and national artists and well as artists from the university.
