Japanese Garden
The Japanese Garden is a 5.5-acre garden which is known for its many natural and architectural elements representative of Japan. Visitors to the garden enter through a gate known as the Nagayamon which has pine and oak trees around itself. The waterfall, falling off a granite cascade, happens to be one of the main highlights here along with the lush green land and the flora.
It is visible from the teahouse on site, also known as the Azumaya. There are winding stone pathways all around the garden which allow visitors to walk around, while taking in the cherry and peach trees, azaleas, Japanese maples, dogwoods and crepe myrtles. A Yumi style stone lantern rests near the entrance while the bridge within provides a view of a small arbour.

Japanese Garden
Built-in 1992 by the Tokyo landscape architect Ken Nakajima, the Japanese Gardens truly reflects a traditional Japanese essence. With over 20 varieties of trees and 100 plus varieties of shrubs, visitors can enjoy the landscape, the water setting (stream in the garden), the rock formation made from pink granite, the teahouse and the three stone lanterns, which are the only sculptures used in the design of the garden.
Some of the plants that can be found in the lush garden are: crepe flowers, Japanese Maples, dogwoods, azaleas and cherry trees. The cherry trees were gifted by Japan to the USA. The koi population of the pond is protected as the garden is 90 per cent organic. The gazebo near the edge of the stream provides a place to relax for the visitors.

Named in honor of Dr. Daniel Jenkins who funded the development of the Garden, it is an abode to the wildlife, insects, birds and also includes a water setting.
