Gus and Lyndall Wortham Park
While there are no natural waterfalls in the Gus and Lyndall Wortham Park, it is still considered a hidden gem of the city since it is located within the Texas Medical Center. It is known best for its water fountains as well as tall water concrete waterfalls. The park has an old-school feel to it owing to its columns which are predominantly ivy-covered, the tiny waterways and the vine-covered pergolas.
The green lawns add to the appeal of the park and visitors have the option to either walk under the pergolas, sit peacefully on the benches underneath, or just take a stroll next to the waterways. The park does not have a designated parking area and visitors must pay for street parking.

Gus Wortham Golf Course
Gus Wortham Golf Course was built at the site of Houston Country Club and hence is a rare, scenic property with amazing elevation changes. It is a non-profit model that is managed by the Houston Golf Association. The course opened in 2018 for the public and has a rating of 69.5 while the slope rates at 113.
After restoration work was done on this century-old site like the rebuilding of greens and the addition of a new irrigation lake for stormwater retention, it has become more luxurious and welcoming. Gus Wortham Golf course has putting green and a driving range as well, and it requires a proper dress code from the players.

Hackberry Park
Nestled next to the community center building in Houston, Texas, Hackberry Park was once home to the Hackberry Golf Course.
This 22.5-acre park features a mile-long concrete loop trail, an outdoor pavilion, a weight room, a playground, a community center, and a splash pad. Along with this, there are water streams at the playground, but they are anything but traditional. There are turtles and lily pads in the stream, too. Hare Krishna Temple and Cultural Center, also known as ISKON of Houston, is a Hindu temple dedicated primarily to Lord Krishna. It was established in 1972 and has, since its inception, added more and more deities to its shrines including Sri Sri Nitai Chandra, Sri Sri Chaitanya Chandra, Sri Sri Radha Nila-Madhava, and Sri Sri Giriraj Govardhan.
There are lush green gardens on the property, along with the old and new temple buildings. Worship services, offerings and religious ceremonies take place on a regular basis, and there are timings for darshan. Guaranga Hall at the temple is known for hosting cultural events and gatherings, and is often the site of dance and music performances. Govinda’s is a vegetarian restaurant which is open throughout the week, and also serves vegan food. The gift shop on site sells chanting beads, incense, scriptures and more, while Goswami Academy strives to educate school children on spiritual matters.

Hermann Park Railroad
The Hermann Park Railroad is over 50 years old and is an attraction point for children. The train provides a winds tour around Hermann Park and is open for people of all ages. The Hermann Park Railroad has an 18-minute journey around the park.
Kinder Station is the main stop for the train and has three substations which are M.D. Anderson Train Station across the Houston Museum of Natural Science, stop at the corner of Cambridge and Fannin with access to the Texas Medical Center, and the Sunset stop with access to METRORail and Rice University.
