Hippie Hollow Beach
Hippie Hollow Beach also originally known as McGregor County Park features a steep rocky shoreline with access to Lake Travis. It is the only Clothing optional public park in Texas. It is legal to sunbathe and swim naked here making it the perfect destination for a fun recreational trip. Overnight camping, bonfires, firework, pets, and glass containers are banned here. All visitors must be over 18 years old to be allowed entry to the beach.
Holocaust Museum Houston
The Holocaust Museum Houston is the fourth largest in the country and is situated within the Museum District, having opened in the year 1996. Comprising of several galleries and exhibits featuring the lives of the Holocaust victims, the museum aims to educate visitors against hatred, violence and prejudice.
The Holocaust Museum Houston’s Education Department within the Boniuk Center consists of classrooms, offices, a library and storage rooms. The different educational programs organised by the museum, such as EIM or the Educator in Motion program, seek to teach high school students from Houston about the history of the Holocaust, Genocide, Social Justice as well as several pressing issues of today. With natural trails of 8 km, there are various gardens encompassed in it, like the Sensory Garden, Hummingbird, and Butterfly Island and Wildlife Garden. The sensory garden in the Nature Centre is designed to appeal to the 3 senses smell, sight, and sound which is evident as the garden has highly fragrant plants, bees, and tropical sage plants.
The Wildlife Garden as the name suggests has harbored many reptiles, migratory birds’ amphibians, and many more. The Hummingbird and butterfly Island consists mostly of nectar plants. The Nature Centre visitors can enjoy wildlife as well as the sight of the unique gardens.

Houston Botanic Garden
A massive property of 132 acres of land Houston Botanic Garden is a host of two main gardens; the Global Collection Garden and the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden. 70 acre of land of the garden is on an island in Sims Bayu. The garden is divided into six different distinct zones: a global garden collection, a culinary garden that has edible and medicinal plants, a lagoon encircled with a boardwalk maze, a family centre, coastal prairie and water wetlands along the islands.
The Global collection garden which spreads across three acres of land has over 350 species of plants, there are also some rare plants like maples, lilies and African Grass. The Family Discovery Garden on the other hand has a plenty of space to roam, water machines and a boardwalk maze encompassing a lagoon. It also allows people to learn new planting techniques and understand the nutritional significance of plants as they grow organic produce in the garden.

Houston Buddhist Vihara
Houston Buddhist Vihara is the largest Sri Lankan Buddhist temple in the area. Founded in 1988 by two Buddhist monks, the Vihara aims to facilitate Theravada Buddhist education and spreading values to its members. The temple complex includes the main shrine hall and Dana Sala (dining hall), a Stupa with an open space to pray and a Bodi tree to add to the glory of the premises. The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft or the HCCC was founded in the year 2001 and has since worked towards educating people about craft; about its history, process and product. It focuses specifically on art work made from glass, metal, wood, clay, fiber, and other recycled materials.
The Craft Garden, which is divided into 4 sections (baskets, textiles, papers and dyes), is where visitors get to see the planting and production of materials. There are one-hour long guided tours which take visitors around the various exhibitions and the Craft Garden, and allow them to interact with the resident artists. The Artist Residency Program offers artists a space to create their art, irrespective of the medium. It also hosts several events which allow visitors to interact with different artists, learn about the exhibits and much more.

It boasts of many permanent as well as rotating exhibitions which include photographs on various subjects, by different artists, and also aims to educate visitors about the art via publications, educational programs and workshops.
In fact, it offers to people of all ages, hundreds of classes and workshops on the art. The Houston Congregation reform, a social reform synagogue has celebrated 60 years as a place of worship.
