Located in the Old Town of Jakarta, it is one of the oldest buildings in Jakarta and is owned by an assembly of state-owned enterprise for trade. Toko Merah once hosted some famous personalities like Willian Bligh and has been featured in a movie ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’. Couples from Indonesia even come to Toko Merah for pre-wedding photoshoots as the red walls of the building serve as splendid backgrounds.  In the late-17th century till around 1808, the building was transformed into a hotel. Vihara Toa Se Bio is an old Chinese monastery in Jakarta. The name of the temple is a combination of two words namely "Taose" meaning "message" and "Bio" meaning "temple." The Vihara Toa Se Bio temple is one of the oldest temples in Jakarta, not far from the famous Jin De Yuan temple and Jakarta Kota station. Constructed as early as in the year 1715 by the Chinese Zhangzhou community and traders who traded in Glodok market, this temple has ever since stood up as 'messenger temple' and a place of worship mainly visited by Buddhists.
