Nestled on the mesmerising Malabar Coast of Kerala, Kannur stands as a beacon of cultural richness and natural beauty. With its pristine beaches, historic forts, and vibrant traditions, Kannur Tourism offers a unique blend of experiences for every traveller. Immerse yourself in the captivating tales of this coastal gem, where history meets modernity, creating a tapestry of wonders waiting to be explored.Kannur, located in the northern part of Kerala, India, is a coastal city known for its rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and pristine beaches.Kannur's blend of historical sites, cultural attractions, and beautiful beaches makes it a diverse and appealing destination for travellers. Whether exploring forts, relaxing on the beaches, or experiencing the local culture, visitors to Kannur can immerse themselves in the rich heritage of this coastal city.

Located on the Malabar Coast of Kerala, Kannur( fondly known as Cannanore) is a beautiful megacity whisked with a plethora of sightseeing options like strands, monuments, ancient tabernacles, and fun and games spots. Steeped in distinctive original art forms like Theyyam, Kannur still has an air of the defunct social period. The deep vestiges of the Dutch, the Portuguese, the British, and the Mysore Sultanate are still imbibed into the city and can be witnessed around it. The city is blessed with exceptional weaving that has earned it the title of the land of sickies and huge cashew trees, maybe embedded by the Portuguese. Take an evening perambulation near the lighthouse sand or explore Portuguese history at St. Angelo's Fort while you're in Kannur.

Kannur is one of the northernmost sections in the south-western state of Kerala in India. The old name' Cannanore' is the anglicised form of the Malayalam word Kannur. Kannur might have deduced its name from one of the Hindu deities, Kannan( Lord Krishna) and Ur (place), making it the place of Lord Krishna. The deity of the Katalayi Sreekrishna tabernacle was before positioned in a sanctum at Katalayi Kotta in the south-eastern part of Kannur city. With the Western Ghats in the east and the Lakshadweep Ocean in the west, Kannur quarter is bounded by a wealth of natural beauty. Kannur is blessed with natural strands, hill stations, gutters, backwoods,  literal monuments, and religious centres. The quarter itself, which shares an important part of the natural splendour, has been a crucial contributor to the artistic, religious, political, and artificial heritage of the state. In addition, Kannur enjoys the credit of having been the cradle of numerous forms of folk art and folk music in Kerala. Kannur is correctly described as "The Land of Looms and Lores.". Kannur is well known for its handlooms. It's one of the major exporters of handlooms in India. The handloom cloths of Kannur have a transnational character. In history, assiduity was confined to the product of coarse kinds of dhoties and the like. The production of quality and exportable kinds of handloom fabric was started when the rudimentary Evengelical Mission entered the field. The handloom assiduity, which was formerly the monopoly of private enterprise, has now been organised along united lines. It provides employment to hundreds of thousands of people, both directly and laterally. Kannur is rich in traditional art and culture. Kannur is the home of the Kerala mythology academy. The gift of Kannur in the field of art and culture is its folk trade. A large number of folk plays and balls are current among the listed casters and lines. Each lineage has its own noble collection of folk plays and balls, which are performed during carnivals. Theyyam, or Theyattam, is an ancient and still popular ritual cotillion. It’s a unique combination of cotillion and music and also reflects the main features of an ethnic culture. Theyyam is generally performed in front of the sanctuaries. There are a large number of tabernacles in Kannur where Theyyam is performed.
