It's nestled at an altitude of 2704 metres above sea level and offers exemplary Himalayan Ranges views. Apart from tourism, this region is also known as an important centre for trade and commerce. Dotted with apricot granges, Kargil is one of the largest producers of apricots in India. Luxurious food and warm locals are the highlights of this city. Hence, testing the original delectables is one of the stylish gestures in Kargil. Kargil is best visited between May and October. Collaborative pressures also lead to frequent curfews in some corridors of the state; still, the effects have improved many times. Yet, it's stylish to be conservative.

Kargil is one of the two sections( the other being Leh) and the common capital of Ladakh, the recently created Union Territory of India. It's located at an altitude of 8,80 feet above the ocean on the banks of the Suru River.
