Khao Lak Beach

Backed by swaying palm groves, Khao Lak Beach features a long stretch of blond sands and vantage walking spots for sunsets. Popular for family-oriented activities, kayaking, rafting, sunbathing, and partying after dark, Khao Lak Beach is lined with waterfront bars, restaurants, and resort bungalows. Among other eye-catching boulders jutting over the ocean, Elephant Rock is the largest, sheltering a viewpoint.

Set amidst richly biodiverse swamps, Little Amazon is Khao Lak's unspoiled, Amazon rainforest-like canoeing destination. Tourists can sit on a canoe rowed by Little Amazon's crews, afloat on the gentle currents of a stream called Klong Sung Nae for 3-4 hours. Adventure enthusiasts are rewarded with plenty of chances to see the resident reptiles, birds, snakes, monkeys, fish, beautiful banyans, palms and mangroves.

Rafting and whitewater rafting are perfect for exploring the jungles of Khao Lak in Southern Thailand. The Royal Thai Navy’s Third Fleet Sea Turtle Conservation Centre in Khao Lak is a bamboo rafting centre and turtle farm rescuing turtles in danger of losing their lives to fishing industries when trapped in nets or hunted for meat. This centre features tanks for newly-hatched or injured sea turtles, anemones and fish. Visitors can enjoy full and half-day tours of the incubators or go bamboo rafting onsite.
