80 Mile Round
80 Mile Round is an exciting trekking route which begins at the Berijam Lake and lasts at the Poombaral Village of Kodaikanal. Since the trek can be a bit confusing for the first-timers, it is always advisable to take a local guide along whenever you are undertaking it with your family and friends which goes on for about 3 to 4 days. Bear Shola Falls
Located at a mere distance of 2 kilometres from the Kodaikanal Lake, the Bear Shola Falls is a popular picnic spot in the region. This cascade is a seasonal attraction that comes to life in its fullest during the monsoons. An interesting legend behind the unique name of this place is that it was a favourite haunt of a bear who used to frequent this water body to drink water, hence imparting it the name Bear Shola Falls.

Berijam Lake
Berijam Lake is a quaint reservoir located 22 km from Kodaikanal main stand. With several activities like fishing, safari tours and bird watching, the lake is nature's unhindered beauty in the midst of a forest conservation area. The lake also facilitates the habitat of many animals such as Bison, Indian Elephant, Nilgiri Langur and Deer, and if you're lucky, you will also be able to catch a glimpse of these majestic creatures. Sprawled over a vast area of 59 acres, the calm waters of the Berijam Lake is so pure that it serves as the main source of potable water for Periyakulam - a small town in the valley that lies below Kodaikanal. Berijam Lake was formed as the result of the construction of a dam with sluice outlets and is part of a micro-watershed development project. Chettiar is a small park which is managed by the Kodaikanal Township and offers a calm and soothing environment to its tourists. Christ The King Church
A prominent CSI Church situated in Kodaikanal, Christ the King Church has a history of over a hundred years. It is a very sacred shrine that is located near the Coakers Walk in Kodaikanal. Built by an American Madurai Mission in 1895, this church was known as the Union Church in the past and has an evident influence of colonial architecture. Christ, the King Church is one of the deeply admired places for worship situated in the Queen of Hill Stations. The church is a perfect example of the Gothic style of architecture, is made up of granite, and leaves the visitors awestruck. Also, regardless of the religion, you belong to, the church welcomes all visitors with open arms.
Inside the opulent church, there is a series of stained glass embellishing the windows, and wooden chairs are placed right in front of the altar. Coakers Walk
Coakers Walk is a beautiful man-made one-kilometre-long walking plaza built on the mountains in the mesmerizing city of Kodaikanal. The lovely path of Coakers Walk that curves by the edge of the gorgeous mountain have been constructed mainly for morning and evening walks. One can also choose to ride a bicycle to explore the scenic location. . It costs INR 30 per hour for adults and INR 20 per hour for children. The sight is breathtakingly beautiful, and it almost makes one feel like they are walking in the clouds.
The Coakers Walk was constructed in 1872, by Lieutenant Coaker. It is about half a kilometre away from Kodaikanal Lake and is constructed on the steep slope of the mountains. The walk begins near Van Allen Hospital and joins the main road above St. Peter's Church. The pathway is fenced by the edge of the mountain for the safety of visitors.At the southeast of the Coakers Walk lies the valley of River Pambar and to the South lie the Dolphin's nose and the City of Madurai. The region has pleasant to cold weather most of the times and is frequented by people of all age groups.

Devil's Kitchen
A natural and unique heritage site also known as the Devil's Kitchen, the Guna Caves are situated on the outskirts of Kodaikanal, which can be reached from the Moir Point. This place was earlier not very famous and was visited only by hikers. However, it got famous after a Tamil movie with the name 'Guna' was shot here in 1992. This is a group of caverns located amidst the three huge boulders known as Pillar Rocks. In addition to being a great location for photography, the gorge also remains filled with thick clouds in the monsoon and winter seasons. To reach the hilltop, visitors need to walk 400 meters from the main entrance.
Like the other sites in and around Kodaikanal, this spot was also discovered by an English Officer known as B.S. Ward in 1821 CE. The caves are situated at an elevation of 2230 meters. Everything apart, the place is also very much accessible since it is located just 8.5 km away from Kodaikanal Bus Station and 1.5 km away from Pillar Rocks. Situated in the middle of the thick forest on top of a hill behind the Pillar Rocks, the Guna Caves remain one of the most visited places in Kodaikanal at present. The path to the caves goes through an exquisite pine forest with the roots of the trees emerging onto the ground giving a unique setting to the place. In addition to the historical importance that the site possesses, the beauty of nature also makes it a famous tourist spot in Kodaikanal. The cave can be viewed from a distance by the visitors since its surroundings remain closed due to security reasons. Dolmen Circle
Dolmen Circle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Kodaikanal which promises a unique experience to all its visitors. Located around 18 km from Berijam Lake and 8 km from Kodai Lake, the Dolmen Circle boasts of pre-historic remains which can date back to 5,000 BC. It is believed that this place was the burial as well as the place where the pre-historic men belonging to the Stone Age and Iron Age dwelled known as dolmens and kistvaens. The dolmen which is made up of two large erect slabs which are further covered with a vast flat chunk is situated close to the Parvatha Vihar and the Pannikadu Village.
Though a large number of dolmens have been destroyed with time, you can still witness them at two places one of them being the Ghat road near Periyakulam and the other one at a distance of 2 km from Pannaikadu hamlet. Situated on the highest point before coming down to Pattiveerampatti, the dolmen still stands strong there without any damage as such. The remains of pre-historic inhabitants along with burial urns and models of dolmens can be found here which offer fascinating insights into the prehistoric living. However, after some research, it was found that ancient people kept their valuables here more than they stayed here themselves. Many copper and brass ornaments along with utensils have been found at the place. Kistavens however, served majorly as burial grounds. This place owing to its history and artefacts is an absolute must-visit on all the explorers out there. Also, the surrounding scenic views and the greenery is a relief to the eyes.

Dolphin's Nose, Kodaikanal
The Dolphin's Nose viewpoint in Kodaikanal is based on a flat, protruding piece of rock that is shaped like a dolphin's nose. This forms a visible cliff at the height of 6,600 feet, where you can experience Kodaikanal at its best - plunging valleys, rugged terrain, clear skies, and the splendor of green.
Reaching this spot requires a moderate level 3 km long trek through the pines and rocks of the Palani Hill Range. It is possible to explore a nearby waterfall and a local village along the way. Fruit juice vendors and food stalls occasionally dot the landscape, but the items are relatively expensive up here. Overall, Dolphin's Nose constitutes a half-day trip into the mountains for a rejuvenating morning (or evening!).
