Hike to Pirate Waterfall

Located just north of Koh Lipe, Pirate Waterfall sits at the end of the trek to Chado Cliff on Koh Adang Mountain. This challenging yet picture-perfect trail is 3 kilometres long, through the hilly pine forest with exotic birds, geckos and flying squirrels, ending in a quaint Thai village. At an elevation of 690 metres, the waterfall overlooks panoramic ocean and mountain views, splitting into two streams at the top.

Sprawling 2 kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide, Koh Lipe is perfectly positioned on the Andaman Sea in Tarutao National Marine Park. This small Thai island can be explored entirely on foot. The main retail district on Koh Lipe is Walking Street, with rows of colourful shops, boutique stalls, and two 7-Elevens. Walls are lined with displayed products, like swimsuits, snorkelling and diving gear, bohemian clothing, handmade leather goods, skirts and scarves, handbags, flip flops, herbal sprays, oils, handicrafts, macrame jewellery and souvenirs. Sunrise Beach, sprawling 800 metres along the island's east coast, is the most popular beach on Koh Lipe. As the name suggests, the turquoise Andaman Sea here is complemented by backdrops of colourful sunrise, acclaimed as one of Thailand's best. One can easily catch breathtaking angles of sunrises from the beach bungalows and bars or hop onto longtail boats sailing the sea. In Koh Lipe, the sun rises between 5:30 AM and 7 AM.

To enjoy the captivating sunsets of Koh Lipe, head to the secluded and lush Sunset Beach on the island’s west coast. There are several laid-back bars and restaurants on the beach with scenic sundown views. Make a stop at the Banana Bar, Zodiac Seesun Beach Bar, and Sea La Vie Bar with your camera. The sun sets in Koh Lipe between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.

In Koh Lipe, a long speedboat ride or hours of snorkelling can be complemented with invigorating Thai yoga classes on the beach.
