Sai Kaew Beach
Also known as Haad Sai Kaew, Sai Kaew Beach is located towards northern Phuket Island. It is one of the very developed beaches and hence subject to mass tourism. Scuba diving in Koh Samet
With over 16 beaches, Koh Samet has many decent underwater sightings for the diver in you. Although not as famous as Koh Tao for diving, Koh Samet does have some beautiful seascapes. Some well-known sightings are pufferfish, stingrays and some rare black-tip sharks.
The corals are extremely impressive too. The visibilty ranges between 5-10 metres. There are open-water and PADI courses offered by popular diving schools like Ploy Diving and Ao Prao Divers.

Wat Ko Kaew Pitsadan
Wat Ko Kaew Pitsadan is Koh Samet's only temple with a big Buddha statue. With a seven-metre tall beautiful white concrete Buddha statue, the Wat Ko Kaew Pitsadan is Koh Samet's one and only temple.
Although it is smaller and less interesting than the other monumental temples of Thailand, it's definitely worth a visit if you're around. There is a sweet and soft spoken monk who you can chat with and recieve a lucky amulet from.
Ao Cho
Featuring quiet restaurants and chic low-rise resorts, Ao Cho beach in the north of Wong Duean is perfect for relaxed island getaways. Filled with white sand, the beach is surrounded by tropical foliage and is divided in the middle by a wooden pier which extends into the ocean. Watersports like jet skiing and banana boating are available, as are seafood shacks, beach bars, and Thai massage spas.
Ao Thian
Punctuated by giant boulders that shelter sandy spots, Ao Thian beach creates the ultimate castaway ambience on the Gulf of Thailand. It remains one of Koh Samet’s most easy-going beaches with almost no crowds on weekdays, though Bangkok university students can be found serenading the stars on weekends with all-night guitar sessions. There are a few casual bungalow accommodations, seafront bars and restaurants.
Ao Karang
Locally called Ao Pakarang, Ao Karang is a small and quiet beach at the far southern tip of Koh Samet. Dotted with fine white sand and tall casuarinas, the beach has a holiday resort and restaurants offering must-try lobsters, shrimps and seafood. A rocky promontory on Ao Karang greets visitors with views of Koh Samet’s southernmost tip that one cannot get on the island.
Ao Kiu Na Nok
An abode for family getaways, Ao Kiu Na Nok, is a secluded stretch of white sand, sea and palm groves. Tucked into the island’s southernmost nook, Ao Kiu Na Nok is accessible by a short hike through luscious jungles. A few restaurants and bars line up the beach. Its turquoise waters are suited for swimming, canoeing, parasailing and jet skiing all year round.
Ao Phai
Boasting rapid development over the past decades, Ao Phai beach is a scenic, compact stretch of white sand with plush resorts, waterfront restaurants and nightclubs. Craggy boulders serve as the picturesque “cape wall” between Ao Phai and Samet Island’s other beaches, while the warm ocean offers great snorkelling and diving experiences. Onshore, swaying palms create shade during afternoons. Fire shows and parties happen at night.
Ao Prao Beach
Ao Prao beach is a calm, crescent-shaped beach on Koh Samet’s northwest corner. Alleged to offer the best sunset views on the island, Prao beach flaunts palm-fringed shores, white sands, offshore reefs and aqua-blue waters. There is also a namesake luxury resort and fishing village on the beach. A plethora of water sports are offered, including diving, snorkelling and speed boating.
Ao Tubtim
Gazing upon mesmerising sunsets, Ao Tubtim is one of Koh Samet’s oldest private beaches, backed by a boutique resort. Several Thai and eclectic restaurants, open-air shacks, massage spas and beach bars sit dappled in the shade of dense jungles. Alongside sunbathing and swimming, beach volleyball games take place here. Visitors can also enjoy snorkelling, diving and speed boating in the water.
