St John's Church
St John's Church is one of the oldest churches in Kolkata that was built during the reign of the British Kingdom when the city was the capital of British India. The church served as Anglican Cathedral till St. Paul's Cathedral was made the Anglican cathedral in 1847. It is a splendidly well-maintained structure that draws history and architecture buffs for its uniqueness and ancient features. One may notice the unique tall features of St John's Church which is a characteristic part of the neoclassical architecture. St. Paul's Cathedral Kolkata

Sur Jahan
Sur Jahan is a three-day annual World Peace Music Festival held in Kolkata and Goa. It was earlier known as Sufi Sutra and works on the motto of "Music For Peace, Music For All". The festival will be held on the first weekend of February in Kolkata, hosting artists from more than four nations this year. It is a non ticketed and a non-commercial festival which provides for one daytime workshop and one evening concert of each international group participating. For Sufi lovers, there is nothing better than the Sufi Sutra International Sufi Music Festival. By including at least 5-6 international bands and three national bands in every edition, it just promises to get bigger and better in the coming years.

About The World Peace Music Festival
Cultural Programs at Sur JahanSource
The festival aims at celebrating cultural plurality and uniqueness. It provides a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue and helps to create awareness about cultural diversity and works for its preservation. The festival was initiated, designed and implemented by Banglanatak dot com, a 16-year-old Kolkata based UN recognised social enterprise aiming for cultural preservation. The first edition of Sur Jahan was held in 2011, and since then it has seen the active participation of 21 countries and 12 Indian States.In addition to music artists, the festival also provides an impetus to traditional rural handicraft and folk artists. The festival has thus created numerous avenues for collaboration and assimilation of art. It has been recognised as the "people's festival" and has emerged as a Headliner Festival in both Kolkata and Goa.
