Another main attraction is the scenic view of the sea and the town from the bastion. The Knights Templar initially completed the castle in the late 1400s, but further alterations were made in the early 1500s. Inside, there are two chapels which are intact with wall carvings and remains of cisterns and houses. There are no instruction panels or labels anywhere in the castle, so a Google search would help understand the place's historical importance. Entry to the castle is free of cost, but many visitors have reported locals trying to gain a quick buck at the entrance, posing to be guides or gatekeepers.
