Plaka Forest
Plaka is a pine and cedar wood forest near the village of Antimachia. The main attraction is the peacocks and feral cats that freely roam and are extremely friendly to humans. There is a small creek in the forest. There are no restaurants near the place.
There are benches where visitors can relax and feed the cats, which are part of the “Kitties of Kefalos” charity.
Plane Tree of Hippocrates
The plane Tree of Hippocrates is an iconic tree located between the Gazzi Hassan Mosque and the entryway of Neratzia Castle. It is almost a 500-year-old tree, and it is believed that Hippocrates gave his lectures under its shade. It might even be the descendant of the original one that stood there about 2400 years ago.
In the same vicinity is an ancient fountain that a Turkish Governor built. The Platanos Square, which used to be the center of the town, has the remains of the headquarters, the town hall, a pharmacy, shops, cafes, and the Gazi Hasan Pasha mosque. One can learn much about the pre-medieval period and the Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine monuments. Some of their excavated remains can be seen in the archaeological site of Agora, also known as the Harbour district.

Psalidi Beach is a long pebble and sand beach and is well-maintained and adequately organized with umbrellas and sundecks. There are various water sports facilities available for more adventure-seeking tourists. There are also local coastal taverns serving seafood and lavish Greek cuisine.

Roman Odeon of Kos
The Ancient Odeon of Kos was constructed by the Romans around the second and third centuries. The complex has various key locations in its arena, making it easier for visitors to visit all of them in one walk without the hassle of traveling much. Roman Odeon of Kos still has the original marble seats that used to be reserved for prominent people.
There are about 18 rows of seats in total, and the orchestra, the pit, the floor, and the wings are still very much intact.

The Sunset Safari takes you on an adrenaline-filled evening off-road ride to the highest mountain on the island. Mount Dikaios has a peak height of almost 843m from sea level and is located near Zia village. Adequate safety measures are taken by the tour guides and the company, but people with motion sickness should be careful, and infants are not allowed. Therma Beach
Therma Beach, popularly known as Bubble Beach, is a beautiful rock and stone beach on the shore of the Aegean Sea. The volcanic hot spring separated from the sea through a loosely held rock barrier is the main attraction. Here the hot spring water from the nearby volcanic mountain mixes with the cool seawater and offers a unique and natural spa-like experience. There’s also a beach bar and other activities like a mud bath.
The beach is a 500 m steep downhill walk/ride from the car parking lot. The temperature at the hot spring ranges from 42-50 degrees Celsius (100-120 degrees Fahrenheit). This can be warm, moderately hot, or even extremely hot at certain portions. Check the temperature before plunging into the pool, especially with kids. A dip in the sea to cool it off would be preferable after the hot spring. The water's sulfur odor could be an issue for some people. There’s also a beach bar and other activities like a mud bath. Added with crystal clear waters and the scenic beauty of the converging mountains and the sea, Therma beach will surely give you a memorable experience.

Tigaki beach is a long, serene, sandy beach famous for various water sports. You can find beach beds and umbrellas throughout the stretch of the beach. There are rentable boxes to store your valuables. Bars and restaurants are easy to find, and visitors can park their cars near the beach.
Traditional House of Kefalos
The Traditional House of Kefalos is a museum and a cultural heritage center, located in H Mullet village. In this 100-year-old house, run by the Marangou family, visitors can experience a snapshot of the culture and daily life of the people of the island from that time. At the entrance is the museum, which showcases a collection of old photos and several objects and artifacts used by the islanders, like agricultural tools, family heirlooms, and household utensils.
The House is located opposite the entrance to Markos beach. The hosts arrange barbeque on prior request. The place is wheelchair accessible. There is a cafe under vine arbors, which serves Greek delicacies, fresh juices and wine.

Traditional Windmill of Antimachia
Antimachia Windmill, or the Traditional Windmill of Antimachia, is one of the oldest functioning windmills in Antimachia. Managed by the Amallos family, the windmill was built in the 19th Century and is still under production. A guided tour is available, where you can taste biscuits and breadsticks made from the flour ground in the windmill, all included in the entry fee.
Antimachia Windmill is easily accessible from Kos town via car or public buses, and there’s free car parking next to the mill. The tour includes the miller’s room on the ground floor, the flour and storage on the first floor and the windmill mechanism on the top floor. Other authentic Greek products are available in the gift shop with a long shelf life. The family is welcoming, and the whole experience is a history lesson in traditional Greek food production.
