Also known as the Kais Monastery, the Dhakpo Shedrupling Monastery in Kullu’s Kais Village on the banks of Beas River was established in 2005. It was inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Set amidst the grandeur of mountains at the top of 50 stairs, the monastery is home to Tibetan Monks and is known for its propagation of the Buddha Dharma.
It also acts as a university and boarding school that teaches Buddhist philosophy. Besides marvelling at the serene environment, attending teaching classes by His Holiness Dhakpo Rinpoche in August and praying in the hall before the statue of Buddha are some of the main activities for visitors to partake in at this Indo-Tibetan monastery.
