OP Jindal Park & Musical Fountain
OP Jindal Park & Musical Fountain was built in the memory of the Power Minister of the state, O P Jindal. The attraction is an expansive park covering about 14 acres of land that has lush green lawns with fountains, a jogging park, fully functioning children's play area, a quiet meditation centre and a fragrant rose garden.
Phalgu Tirtha
Falgu Tirth is a religiously important pilgrimage centre in the country, especially during Pitru Paksha, which according to the Hindu calendar, is the period to pay respects to the deceased ancestors. It is believed that the ritual of pindadan in the name of the deceased ancestors helps them attain moksha.
Pipli Zoo
Established in 1982, Pipli Zoo houses various species of animals over an area of 25 acres of land. The zoo also has a black buck breeding centre and is a famous picnic spot for the animal lovers.
Raja Harsh Ka Tila
Raja Harsh Ka Tila is an archaeologically important site in the region. Excavations have revealed an ancient settlement expanding about 1 square kilometre. Research has revealed that the settlements belong to over six cultural periods ranging from 1st Century to 19th Century AD including Gupta, Kushana, Vardhamana, Post Gupta and Mughal periods.
Raja Karna Ka Kila
Raja Karna Ka Kila is a site belonging to three cultural periods in the region ranging from 4th Century BC to 3rd Century AD. It was first surveyed and excavated in 1921 by Archaeological Survey of India. The artefacts recovered include terracotta seals, fabrics, terracotta beads, stamped pottery, bricks, clay artefacts & seals. One can also see fortification of small houses preserved quite well over the years.
Rantuka Yaksh Tirth
Named after the wife of Rishi Jamadagni, Renuka, the Rantuka Yaksh Tirth is the entry point to Kurukshetra and one of the four Yakshas present in the region. The tranquil tirth is located on the banks of the sacred River Saraswati where taking a dip is considered auspicious before beginning their journey into the region.
Sannihit Sarovar
Measuring up to 550 ft in width and 1500 ft in height, Sannihit Sarovar is believed to be the meeting point of seven tributaries of Saraswati River and the home of Lord Vishnu.
It is believed that bathing on the day of Amavasya or on the day of an eclipse would fetch the fortune of an aswamedha yajna. Sarovar premises also houses shrines of Dhruv Narayan, Sri Hanuman, Lord Vishnu, Dhruv Bhagat, Laxmi Narayan and Goddess Durga.
Sheikh Chilli's Tomb
Sheikh Cheli Mausoleum or Sheikh Chilli's Tomb was built in the memory of the Sufi master of Prince Dara Shikoh. The attraction is a stunning illustration of Persian architecture with beautiful floral designs. The complex has Sheikh Chilli's and his wife's tomb, a mosque made of red sandstone, madrasa, beautifully maintained lawns and an Archaeological Museum making it a perfect tourist attraction._
Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple
It is said that the Pandavas obtained the blessings of Lord Shiva in Sthaneshwar Mahadev Temple. The tank in the premises of the temple is believed to possess healing properties and has also healed Banasura's leprosy.
Archaeologists trace the architecture of the temple to Sthaneshwar, ancient capital of Harsha Vardhana. One can see the roof of the temple shaped like an amla dome with lofty pinnacles. The temple houses an ancient statue of the Shivalingam, a manifestation of Lord Shiva.
