Lake Hollywood Park
Lake Hollywood Park surrounds the Hollywood Reservoir, which was created by the Mulholland Dam. Lake Hollywood
Located in the Hollywood hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, overlooked by the world-famous “Hollywood” Sign is Lake Hollywood, also referred to as the Hollywood Reservoir. Built by the Mulholland Dam and designed by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in 1924, the lake has a capacity of 7,900 acre-feet with a depth of 183 feet.
The area surrounding the lake is called the “Lake Hollywood Park” where families and tourists often visit to spend time at the park which hosts plenty of activities including a children’s play area and picnic tables & benches for picnicking while gazing at the Hollywood sign.
The lake also offers a great spot for hikes with its numerous trails spread around and across the hills leading up to the Hollywood sign itself and other places providing great photo ops. Lake Machado (or) Machado Lake as it’s known here, is a 231-acre oasis in the Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park of Harbor City, Los Angeles. Leo Carrillo State Park
Leo Carrillo is a State Park in Los Angeles County, along the Malibu Coast, California. The park is on the Pacific Coast Highway, 28 miles northwest of Santa Monica. It was established in 1953, and it is managed by the California Department of Parks & Recreation. The park is named after Leo Carrillo (1880-1961), who was an actor, preservationist, and conservationist. For around eighteen years, Leo served on the California Beach and Parks Commission.
Leo Carrillo State Park has about 1.5 miles of beach for recreational activities like swimming, sunbathing, surfing, fishing, and beachcombing.
The beach features tidepools, coastal caves, and reefs for exploring. Giant sycamores shade the main campgrounds. The park also offers back-country hiking. Leo Carrillo Park is also famous for camping. The park's campground comprises 135 campsites, each with a picnic table and fire ring. Moreover, some sites have electrical hookups for RVs. Each standard site is $45 per night. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the park's day-use areas, campground, and north beach.

Lewis Falls
Loved among hikers and nature lovers for its seclusion and verdant forest, Lewis Falls is nestled amidst sylvan canyons in the tropics of San Gabriel Mountains. The trail to the waterfall is graced by a pristine creek bed with rugged boulders to accentuate the ivy-strewn terrain. Lush grass and Californian wildflowers encircle the falls, creating an ambient spot to sit and admire the Azusa valley views afront.
Hiding several tiers above the main one within lush foliage, Lewis Falls is fed by Soldier Creek and flows robustly all year. The falls is enclosed on three sides and plunges onto the head of the canyon to create a sparkling splash pool in front, a playground for colorful koi fish. The pool may have some icy layers in winter and the weather turns chilly. Housing few of America’s rarest groves, the hike up to Lewis Falls is covered with white alders, oaks, cedars and maple trees while pines, firs and misty air dominate the deeper forests. Their fallen logs and green branches also offer challenging yet picture-perfect obstacles for hikers and bringing wet gears is recommended. Following the creek, the trail dips down west and after ducking under a few bushes on your way, the babbling cascade of Lewis Falls gets closer.
