Luang Namtha is located in the north of Laos and is the capital of the  fiefdom of Laos of the same name. Luang Namtha  megacity lies on the bank of the swash Tha and borders with China on the northern front and Burma on the northwest.   Luang Namtha attracts nature lovers from all over and provides a base for  touring and biking to the nearby ethnic townlets. It's worth visiting for excursionists looking to explore the natural beauty of Laos and learn about the ethnic communities.The  fiefdom is known for sugar clubs and rubber products, with colonies spread over hundreds of acres. The Nam Ha National Biodiversity Conservation Area is also located here. Luang Namtha is the largest  megacity in Luang Nam Tha Province, Northern Laos. It lies on the banks of the Nam Tha River, and the meaning of the name is" the area (lauang) around the Tha River( nam Tha).". Luang Namtha is the gateway for Northern Laos. Access can be made via aeroplane from Vientiane or via road or  machine from Luang Prabang, Nongkhiaw, Udomxay, and Houey Xai. It's 3 hours from the border with Houey Xai-Chiang Khong (Laos-Thai), so it's a popular destination from Chiang Mai.   Luang Namtha is most  notorious for  touring and  out-of-door  adventure. Still, there are  numerous sights that can be enjoyed at a less emphatic pace and with  intriguing ethnic diversity. The Luang Namtha Valley Route covers  numerous sights; take a bike or motorbike and enjoy a half or full day guiding yourself around the  vale.   Luang Namtha Province is  put away in the north-western corner of Lao PDR. It covers an area of 9,325 square kilometres, with 85 percent of that terrain being low calciferous mountains, rising between 800-2,000 metres.   The rainfall, like the rest of the country, is characterised by a  stormy season from May to September, a cool, dry period from October to February, and March and April are the hottest months. On average, the  diurnal temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius, but during the cool season, it can dip to zero on the coldest nights.   To the north, Luang Namtha shares a 140-kilometer land border with China, and it’s northwest frontier follows a 130-kilometer stretch of the Mekong River.   The  fiefdom is divided into 5  sections; Luang Namtha includes the capital and environs and is the gateway to travel in the  fiefdom. Muang Sing and Muang Long are located to the north-west of the capital, Vieng Phouka to the south-west, and Nalae in the south.
