Budha Madhyamaheshwar

Situated 2km from Madhyamaheshwar, this holy shrine is a cluster of rocks. However, the journey to this place quite captivating with picturesque views of various peaks can be seen from here such as Kedarnath, Neelkanth, Trishul, Kamet and Panchachuli over a small lake. Do visit this place for an enchanting experience.

Kanchani Tal

Kanchani tal is 16 km farther away from Madhyamaheshwar, which can again be reached by a trek. However, the trek to this place is deemed to be quite difficult, so do visit only if you are prepared.

Madhyamaheshwar Temple

Perched over an elevation of 3490 m above the sea level, the trek to this temple is quite a task. However, it is not without a fruit. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is considered to be one of the oldest religious places in India. It is said that in order to avoid meeting with Pandavas, who came here to seek his blessing after the war of Mahabharata, Lord Shiva transformed into a bull here. Despite it's difficult way uphill, it is flocked with devotees in large number to worship Lord Shiva. Inside the temple, an idol of Shiva lingam in the shape of naval is placed along with the idol of Goddess Parvati and Ardhanarishwara (half Shiva and half Parvati idol). Omkareshwar Temple

The Madhyamaheshwar Omkareshwar Temple is an integral part of the great Panch Kedar and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is simply known as Ukhimath Omkareshwar Temple. During the winters, the idols from Kedarnath temple and Madhyamaheshwar are brought to Ukhimath and worshipped here for six months. Ukhimath is a small pilgrimage town in the Rudraprayag District of Uttarakhand. No one from here is believed to leave empty-handed.
