Gan Island
The southernmost atoll in Maldives, Addu Atoll is a beautiful yet secluded place that is famous amongst tourists. Guraidhoo Island
Guraidhoo Island in the Kafu Atoll is a bliss for the ones escaping the crowd into the serenity of nature. To reach the pictureque island, one can travel via ferry from Male at very reasonable rates. There are also speedboats charging USD30 per person that operate from Male to and Guraidhoo Island. Hanimaadhoo
Located in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Hanimadhoo is one of the largest inhabited islands of Maldives. It stretches over a length of 7 km, with the broadest part of the land being only 750 metres. One side of Hanimadhoo is surrounded by a beach along the periphery, while the other side has house reefs. Hanimadhoo is famous for snorkelling, scuba diving, night fishing, dolphin spotting and kayaking.
Apart from the island's scenic beauty, Hanimadhoo also houses around two thousand people, along with a domestic airport. Since it is located almost 300km from Male, the only way to reach here is through a domestic flight. Due to the atmospheric conditions, many banana plantations are found in Hanimadhoo. The Conservation Centre present on the island's northern end is also a must-visit. There are some excellent restaurants and cafes in Hanimadhoo, along with a few small hotels.

Himmafushi Island
Himmafushi Island in Kaafu Atoll is one of Maldives’ still developing tourist islands. A visit to the island guarantees a glimpse into traditional life in the Maldives. Its main is lined with souvenirs like carved rosewood manta rays and dolphins and coral headstones while the entire island can be explored on foot in less than an hour. It’s a popular spot for dolphin watching and diving.
The famous surfing spot on the island is the Jailbreak, named after its location behind a former prison. This reeling right hand point offers fast barrel sections for the advanced surfer. Another famous surf are the Sultans that can go up to 8 feet in height. For diving, you can check out the Lankan Manta Point site that is only 15 minutes from Himmafushi Island. On the mainland, the lack of tourists assure a private beach experience although you’ll need to be conservatively dressed in these parts. At just 16.5 kilometres from Male, Himmafushi Island is easily accessible by daily speedboats.

HP Reef
One of the most beautiful diving sites in the Maldives, the HP Reef, located at the North Male Atoll, is also referred to as the 'Girifushi Thila' and the 'Rainbow Reef', the latter owing to the plethora of brightly coloured corals that adorn the seabed. The resplendent reef is full of astonishing formations, which include crevices, splendid caves, huge blocks, and a whopping vertical swim-through chimney which reaches up to a height of 25 metres.
A large portion of the HP Reef is laden with bright blue, orange, and yellow corals, including gorgonians, sea fans, and sea whips, while hundreds of small fish, eagle rays, barracudas, grey reef sharks, and dog-toothed tunas throng the place on a frequent basis. The HP Reef is a year-round site for diving. With dives that reach up to the depths of 40 metres, this reef is an ideal spot for those who seek to uncover the fascinating mysteries of the world underwater. At present, this is a Protected Marine Area in the island nation of the Maldives.

Hulhumale
Hulhumale is an artificial island in Maldives located south of the North Male Atoll and connected to the airport by a causeway. It spreads across 188 hectares and is a perfect fusion of urban life with the delights of island life. It houses the popular Hulhumale Beach located on the sunrise side of the island. The beachfront road is ideal for a walk and houses some resorts and cafes. Other attractions here are Central Park, Fruit & Vegetable Market, and some mosques.
Hulhumale is most famous amongst tourists who arrive in the Maldives in the late evenings or have a day to spare before their flight departs, as it is connected to the airport island by road. The purpose of developing Hulhumale was to reduce the amount of congestion in Male, Maldives' capital city. Just 35 minutes away from Male, Huraa Island is located on the Kaafu Atoll of the Maldives. With a population of around 600 people, this island is perfect for those looking for an authentic Maldivian beach holiday. Not as heavily populated with beach resorts and private beaches as other Maldivian islands, Huraa Island gives visitors the chance to mingle with locals and get a taste for traditional Maldivian culture.
