Bokar Monastery
The seat of the Venerable Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche, the monastery belongs to the Kagyud order. The Monastery is one of the few in India that have retained its traditional beliefs and environment from the very beginning.
The beautiful monastery is an epitome of Chinese architecture and has sprawling lawns for you to sit and observe the place. The Monastery is a few minutes away from Mirik Lake.
Bunkulung
A very elusive and unexplored place, Bunkulung is literally the agricultural hub of Mirik. The place cannot be accessed on foot. You will need to hire a cab, but a few minutes in the car and you will see yourself in the most authentic hillside village there is.
Located on the edge of the valley, with hills looming in every direction. The place is full of farm lands, fisheries and empty spans of land that will mesmerize you. The place also has hundreds of stories from its inception to its present day inhabitation.

Devi Stan
Devi Stan is one of the most revered temples of Mirik. It houses idols of Goddess Singla Devi, Lord Shiva, Hanuman and Goddess Kali. The Temple is a few minutes walk from the Sumendu lake and another few minutes away from Bokar Monastery.
So, coming to this beautiful and cozy temple will help you cover three of Mirik's most important tourist spots in one go.
Mirik Church
Constructed recently, adjacent to Don Bosco School, the church is one of the few places for Christian worship in Mirik. In addition to its fresh architecture, the location of the church adds to its grandeur.
Mirik Tea Gardens
Going to a place in Darjeeling and not seeing a tea estate will leave you trip incomplete. Mirik is full of valley covered in tea bushes. Almost throughout the year, you can see workers picking ripe leaves or watering the bushes.
The most fascinating thing about them is that you can walk though the gardens, that is if you don't damage the bushes, with thee bushes growing on either side. Spending an hour or two here will make the rest of your day.

Orange Orchards
Another unique and offbeat offering of Mirik are the numerous plantations spread across the cities. The orange orchids are one of the most beautiful plantations you will ever see.
And if you are lucky to see them in full bloom, the entire place looks lit up with countless orange bulbs.
Pashupati Nagar
A very interesting market, about 15 km away from Mirik is the Pashupati Nagar Market. The market is at the Indo Nepalese border and half of it lies in the neighboring country.
The beautiful market has very strict restrictions due to the cross country trade but you can always buy cloth, perfumes, handicrafts an much more. When in the market, be very careful of the strict checks at the Indo Nepalese check posts.
Rameetay Dhara
Like every hill station, Mirik too has a beautiful viewpoint for you to spend at dawn or dusk. The stunning view with Kanchenjunga on the backdrop and the valley at the bottom, will take you aback.
The Mirik Lake
The most prominent place in Mirik, The Sumendu Lake is beautiful, calm and yet invigorating. The lake also has an 80 foot bridge running over it for people who don't wish to walk around it.
Boating in the lake and a pony ride on the lakeside are exhilarating experiences. Also, the strategic advantage of the lake is that it is nearly walking distance to every place in the town.
