Raghunath Temple

Shri Raghunath Ji Temple is a 650-year-old temple on the shores of Nakki Lake in Mount Abu dedicated to the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. Predominantly, it visited by Vaishnavites who consider the temple as one of the most sacred places on Earth. Raghunath Ji is believed to save his followers from all the natural calamities and believed to liberate one from the pain and problems of life. The architectural heritage of Mewar can be seen through several wall inscriptions and delicate paintings and carvings can be found at the Raghunath Temple. The exquisitely carved idol of Shri Raghunath Ji is one of the main attractions. Legend also tells us two tales, one a tale of unrequited love of a beautiful princess who's stepmother disapproved her love affair with Mount Abu's ruling son. It is believed that she died young as she wasn't able to marry her lover and the temple was constructed in her honour. Located south of Nakki Lake in Mount Abu, the Toad Rock is a colossal rock piece which looks like a toad about to jump into the waters of the lake. Known as the mascot of Mount Abu, this is one of the most frequented points in the itinerary of all visitors. To see the panoramic beauty of the surrounding lake and greenish hilly regions you can climb up the rock and capture the breathtaking scenery. The path to Toad Rock starts near the Nakki Lake and includes climbing 250 steps to the top. The pathway is nestled in lush greenery which makes for a calming walk, though some people might find it intimidating. Trevor's Tank

5km from the heart of Mount Abu town, Trevor's Tank is a man-made crocodile breeding site and wildlife sanctuary. It is also known as Trevor's Crocodile Park and is a popular picnic spot with picturesque views. A jungle safari is available up to a certain point from where you can walk and explore the pond housing the crocodiles. Trevor's Tank is also known for birdwatching.  There are multiple viewing stations created inside the forest to watch the wildlife in its natural habitat. A guide is available for the safari which can cost around IN6R 600. There is limited wildlife sighting here which includes black bear. Trevor's Tank was designed by an engineer named Col. Universal Peace Hall in Mount Abu, also known as the Om Shanti Bhavan, is the main assembly hall of the Brahma Kumari Spiritual University, constructed in 1983. The serene white structure has a seating capacity of 5,000 with a facility of translation in 16 languages done simultaneously during various events. Universal Peace Hall was declared as a public tourist place after which more than 8,000 people visit on a daily basis. While you are here, a member of the Brahma Kumaris will take you around in groups indulging in an interactive session about everyday values and resolving stress in one's lives. The Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is a Lord Shiva temple in Mount Abu, situated in the Achalgarh Fort complex. The temple is believed to have been built around the toe print of Lord Shiva who is worshipped here in the form of Shiva Linga. This Shiva Linga is believed to change colour 3 times during the day - red in the morning, saffron during the afternoon and wheatish in the evening. Another  major highlight here is the four tonne statue of Nandi made of five metals. It is believed that this Nandi statue repulsed a group of Muslim invaders once by releasing millions of bumble bees on them. Achalgarh Fort is a 15-century fort in Mount Abu which now lies in ruins. The ruined fort complex houses a huge gate called Hanumanpol, which served as the main entrance. There. is a famous Shiva Temple (Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple) and Mandakini Lake inside the fort complex. Another major attraction is a huge Nandi statue. Achalgarh Fort was built during the  Paramara dynasty and later renovated by Maharana Kumbha. Champa Cave is a historical site in Mount Abu popular for trekking. It is located between Nakki Lake and Toad Road. Champaa Cave holds historical significance as Swami Vivekanand stayed and meditated here for. a few weeks in 1891. The cave site has picturesque surroundings with stunning views. Champa Cave is divided into two sections - the smaller section was used as a meditating seat while the other section was used as a bedroom. The Government Museum in Mount Abu is a popular tourist attraction, located within the Raj Bhawan premises. It houses a rich collection of artefacts depicting the tribal life of the region. There are also brass artefacts and Jan bronze carvings on display. The highlight of the museum is exquisitely carved statues of Devdasi or Nartaki (ranging from 6th - 12th century AD).
