Salsette Island
Located on the Western Coast of India, in the state of Maharashtra, Salsette Island is one of the most densely populated islands in the world. The island houses the busy metropolis of Bombay, Thane and Mira- Bhayandar, and is also known to be one of the most populous islands with a population of around 15.1 million on a relatively small area of 619 square kms. The island is covered by water on all sides- Vasai Creek to the north, Ulhas River on the northeast, Thane Creek and Bombay Harbour on the East and Arabian Sea on the south and the west. Sanjay Gandhi National Park
Squeezed between the two suburbs of Mumbai and Thane, Sanjay Gandhi National Park is ideal for picnics and weekend getaways offering respite from the chaos and buzz of the city. Famed to be one the most liked national parks, visitors throng in thousands to spot Leopards, Macaques, Boars, Lions, Flying fox, Kingfisher, Sunbirds and a significant number of butterflies here. Kanheri caves, which are more than two thousand years old are also a major tourist attraction inside the park premises. The caves have been carved out of the rocky cliffs.
The Sanjay Gandhi National Park, previously known as the Borivali National Park covers approximately 20% of Mumbai's geographical area and is home to a staggering thirteen hundred species of flora and more than five hundred species of fauna respectively. Covering an area of 104 square kilometers, it is one of Asia's most visited National Parks with over 2 million visitors every year. The park is also said to be the largest park in the world located within city limits. There are two artificial lakes within the forest thriving with crocodiles and migratory birds all year. The lakes supply drinking water to the city. The park was first introduced in 1974 and helps to have a change from the usual sights, attractions, and rush of the big city. Shaar Harahamim Synagogue
Shaar Harahamim Synagogue is another one of the remaining synagogues in Mumbai, situated in Masjid Bandar. The synagogue was consecrated in 1796 and was demolished and reconstructed once in 1860. The new building has two floors and is made of chunam, or plaster of polished lime and sand.
Shaar Hashamaim
Situated in Thane West in Mumbai, Shaar Hashamaim is also known as Gate of Heaven Synagogue. It was consecrated in 1879 and was further restored and renovated in 1999. After the beautification, the two-storeyed synagogue looks more wonderful than ever.
Shaar Rason Synagogue
Situated in Pydhonie, Mandvi in Mumbai, Shaar Rason Synagogue is a relatively small synagogue which was consecrated in 1843. The exteriors are elegant and the interiors are adorned with various kinds of ceiling fans, glass lanterns and lighting fixtures.

Located in Worli in Mumbai, Shiro is a bar cum restaurant which is popular for its delectable Pan- Asian cuisine and amazing concoctions and innovative cocktails. Situated in Dadar, Mumbai, Shivaji Park is one of the largest parks in the city. Besides the very famous massive statue of Shivaji, the park also houses an enormous cricket ground which hosts local cricket and football matches.
Bhimashankar Trek
Located in the beautiful expanses of the Western Ghats, the Bhimashankar Trek takes you through the thickets of the Bhimashankar jungles right up to the temple. Bhimashankar is located in the village Bhorgiri in the ghat region of the Sahyadri range. Situated at a height of around 3,250 feet, Bhimashankar is surrounded by hills and is covered by thick green rainforests. Legend has it that the name Bhimashankar was originated from the river Bhima which evaporated due to the generated between the war of Lord Shiva and the demon Tripurasura. It is considered to be one of the holiest places in India because of the jyotirlinga. Bhimashankar is also a popular destination for trekkers. Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary is another important reason why people come here.
Bhimashankar Trek is one of the most famous treks in Maharashtra. Trekkers from Pune and Mumbai often head to Bhimashankar for a day-long recreational activity which can easily be completed over a weekend. The forest is home to a number of animal and plant species. Nature lovers would enjoy exploring the lush greenery but some prior experience in trekking is advisable.

Siddhivinayak Temple
The Siddhivinayak Temple in the Prabhadevi area is a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is one of the most significant and frequented temples in Mumbai. This temple was built in the year 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil. The couple did not have any children of their own and decided to build the Siddhivinayak temple so as to fulfil the wishes of other infertile women. Interestingly, the statue of Lord Ganesha here is believed to be self-manifested and grants wishes.
The Temple has a small sanctum housing the idol of Shri Ganesha, which is about two and a half feet wide and made out of a single piece of black stone. The temple has attained a popular status not only because it is believed that the Ganesha in the temple is especially revered, but also because of its popularity with Film stars and the bigwigs of the industry. It is also the richest temple in Mumbai as it begets INR 100 Million in donations each year from devotees across the world.
