Saint Peters Church
The Church of St. Peter is one of Munich's landmarks, fondly called the Alter Peter (Old Peter) by the locals. Pinakothek der Moderne is a renowned art museum in Munich, Germany, located in the Kunstareal cultural district. It is known for its extensive collection of modern and contemporary art, design, and architecture.
This Germany's largest modern-art museum built by Stephan Braunfels, whose four storeys are centred on an eye like dome through which natural light filters through the galleries! This striking glass and concrete complex, opened only in 2002 is home to four outstanding collections - art, graphic art, architecture, and design. On display are some exemplary modern classics - works of Picasso, Klee, Dali, Andy Warhol, Dan Flavin. In addition to art, there are representations of applied design from the industrial revoluion to today. Munich Residenz
The Residenz in Munich is a grand palace complex located in Maxvorstadt. It is renowned for its opulent Baroque and Renaissance architecture and houses museums, including the Residenz Museum and the Treasury, showcasing art, history, and cultural treasures from Bavarian royalty and history.
This palace served as the seat of residence for the Bavarian dukes, monarchs and electors till 1918 and ever since its inception the castle complex has expanded in opulence as well as size. The rooms and art collection span a period commencing from the Renaissance , with traces of early Baroque and Rococo, till Neoclassicism. Most of this regal structure was destroyed during the Second World War and was gradually reconstructed. Today, the Bavarian Palace Department museums, including the Residenz, the Treasury, and the Cuvillis Theatre, are some of the main striking features of the palace complex. The castle structure include ten courtyards which contribute to the mammoth size of the entire complex. The inner courtyards are used for open air concerts and festivals.

Nymphenburg Palace
Northwest of the Alstadt, this regal palace with its lavish gardens sprawl around 5km. There are a number of attractions worth visiting here - the Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory, the Marstall Museum, two concert halls, the Museum of Mankind and Nature, the magnificent garden pavilions and the palace itself.
The summer home of the royal Wittelsbach family, this Baroque palace is not to be missed while exploring the Bavarian city. With lavishly decorated interiors and sumptuous period rooms, this palace, though regarded as not the best form of Baroque architecture, is yet quite impressive. As you explore the ground floor and first floor of interiors of the palace, amidst antechambers and apartments, what is striking is the two Gallery of Beauties, one of Max EmanuelÍs and the other dedicated to Ludwig. One of the portraits here is of Irish Lola Montez, Ludwig's alliance with her triggered the revolution of 1848. The second floor is closed for the public since the Duke of Bavaria still resides here. The Marstall museum in the Southern Wing of the palace is an insight into the history of horse drawn vehicles. The northern wing is not far behind, with the palace chapel, the concert hall and the Museum of Mankind. It is said, that the ideal time to visit the Nymphenburg palace is during the summer months, when the garden is in full bloom in vivid hues. Be sure to be devoting almost an entire day in exploring the several attractions in the palace complex or just spending leisure time in the park.
