Lena's house is a middle-class 19th-century Mykonian house converted into a museum. Located in Tria Pigadia, it showcases the rich social history of Greece with beautiful furniture and decorations. The museum consists of two bedrooms, a vast drawing-room, two courtyards and a dovecote. The antique furniture takes you back to old times with splendid prints in large frames, wood carving, painted plates, old mirrors, embroideries and bedrooms fitted with Viennese furniture. Lena’s House has been open to the public since 1972. It became a part of the museum after the donation from Lena Skrivanou’s inheritors, Georgios and Ioanna Drakopoulou. The Mykonos Municipal Library displays the life of Mykonos in a beautiful and unique way. Located in Ayra Kyriaki Square, Cyclades, it was an old magnificent mansion of a Mavorgeins family which was later acquired by the government to convert into a public library in 1977. The library consists of more than 6000 volumes inclusive of various sections like the history of Greece, children and foreign literature, theatre, poetry, art and much more. It also houses a collection of Cycladic coins, stamps, maps and old engraving. The library has a small collection of books in English and French. The books in the Mykonos Municipal Library have been donated by Ioannis Meletopoulos (Mykonian historian) from his personal library and John Ratekin (American artist).
